（一）整体设计思路、指导依据说明
《英语课程标准》对初中英语课程教学任务要求激发培养学生的学习兴趣，形成良好的学习习惯和形成有效的学习策略，发展自主学习的能力和合作精神。让学生掌握一定的英语基础知识以及听、说、读、写技能，形成一定的运用语言的能力。倡导“任务型教学”，通过感知、体验、参与、合作的方式，实现教学目标。本课先通过部分体育明星图片和一段视频提起学生兴趣，再通过游戏的形式让学生竞争完成四个任务skimming, scanning, intensive reading 和 project，四个任务中涵盖了文章的基本内容以及出现的重要知识点，学生完成任务后最终成功打开盒子。主要培养学生的阅读技巧，自主学习、合作学习的能力以及口头表达能力。
（二）教学背景分析
教学内容分析：本文The Modern Olympics，选自仁爱版八年级上Unit 1 Topic 3 Section C。这是一篇说明文，有三个自然段，分别介绍奥运宗旨、冬季夏季奥运会、奥运的现状与未来。学生情况分析：本班学生现已初步具备自主学习能力以及小组合作学习能力。但在阅读方式方法上还有待培养，而且部分学生个性羞涩不愿意表达。所以在小组活动中，在小组内个性活泼积极的同学带领下，鼓励他们在小范围内先突破自己，勇敢地表现自己。
（三）教学目标分析
Knowledge aims：学习并掌握以下单词。modern Olympics motto Olympic ring symbolstand nowadays least compete chance host （2） 掌握并学会运用以下短语：stand for at least a symbol of every four years in turn more and more popular have the chance to do sth.Skill aims: （1）能读懂有关奥运会的英语文字材料。（2）掌握如何去阅读一篇文章。（3）能抓住关键词对文章进行简单的复述并将所学内容加以应用。Emotional aims:发扬奥运精神，积极锻炼，强身健体。

（五）教学过程设计
