My new teacher is cool. Her name is Paula so we call her Miss Paula.
The first time we met her she said we are going to be good friends and that good friends are
always nice to each other.
Miss Paula has been teaching us a lot of things. Some of us used to get in trouble for talking
in the hallway (过道). Miss Paula says she can’t change the rule that we can’t make noise in the
hallway but we can still talk to each other. She is teaching us sign language. I already know how
to say “hello” and “how are you” with my hands. Now we love it when we have to walk
somewhere and we are always quiet except for a laugh or two.
Miss Paula likes everybody even Sam and nobody likes Sam. He never does what he’s told
but now he is doing better. Miss Paula says every single one of us is perfect and beautiful just the
way we are. I guess that includes Sam.
This week at school was really the best ever. I didn’t even get in trouble when I thought I
would because I spilled (洒) milk on my homework and had to hand it in when it was still wet.
Miss Paula just smiled and asked “What’s this ” So I told her what happened. Miss Paula put it
near the window to make it dry. She said the sun had been waiting for such an important job as
this and would be happy to help us.

Logically, you may know that there’s more to life than high school. But your teenage brain
doesn’t. Because your brain is still not fully developed, most of the challenges you will face in
high school will feel like life or death situations. Which are these problems and what can you do
about them
If you’re in junior high or high school, chances are, you are experiencing at least TWO or
THREE of these CHALLENGES DAILY.
Unhealthy Relationships
Though it’s natural and a good thing for you to want to separate yourself from your parents
because it means you are getting ready to be an adult, some problems are likely to stem from
separating yourself in unhealthy ways, such as rebelling against family rules, hanging out with the
wrong type of friends, and being secretive. In fact, you may not be ready to make every decision
on your own.
How To Form Healthy Relationships
Keep communication lines open.
Focus on having fun, and allowing for some form of independence through something like a
part-time job.
Bullying
Teens that bully other kids are usually looking to make themselves feel powerful because, in
some other aspect of their lives, they feel powerless. Unfortunately, bullying is extremely
common in high schools everywhere and needs to stop.
How To Overcome Bullying
Report the bully and have your parents talk to their parents. If that doesn’t help, learn how to
react.
The best thing to do is to walk away from negative situations. Since this is not always
possible, learn a form of self-defense, such as karate (空手道).
Disorganization / Overwhelm
Organization in high school is crucial. Not knowing when things are due or having a schedule
to rely on can make anyone feel like they’re going crazy. The more organized you are, the less
overwhelmed and stressed you will feel.
Solutions
Get yourself a planner to write in or share phone calendars with your parents.
Make sure to enter assignments and responsibilities in your calendar as they come up.
5.Which will arise from separating yourself in improper ways
A.Following family rules. B.Making friends with others.
C.Making unwise decisions. D.Sharing personal secrets with parents.
6.Which is right concerning school bullying according to the text
A.Learning a form of self-defense is a must.
B.Teens that bully other kids are usually powerful.
C.Always face school bullying bravely and fight back.
D.Turn to your parents and have them talk to their parents.
7.How to be an organized student in high school
A.Keep your phone calendars secret. B.Feel less overwhelmed and stressed.
C.Realize the importance of organization. D.Make a schedule as assignments come up.
