In this period,the students review and learn some adjectives to describe the places and objects.
Listening and oral practice are important in this unit.It is necessary for students to talk with their partners by using what they have learned:Yes/No questions and Wh- questions in the simple past tense.We could also teach students to use the example sentence patterns.
We can ask students to talk about their vacations to improve their capacity of oral output.And we should teach students to memorize the simple past tense of regular and irregular verbs.

1.Review and discuss the questions in 2a box with your partner.
2.Project these new words on the screen or write them on the board and teach the new words.Ask students to repeat them.And make sure everyone knows the meanings.

In the fourth period,the most important thing is reading.The students should know the form of a diary.Before reading,the teacher can start free talk to teach new words and expressions.While reading,we can ask the students to answer some questions.It can help them comprehend the two diaries.Through the study of the two diaries in 2b and the following exercises,we can help the students master the key words,phrases and sentence patterns in this class,and cultivate the students' comprehensive reading ability.After reading,we can talk about the reading passage and discuss some questions to check how well the students learn from the passage.The students should be given some written work to do after class.

In the last period of this unit,writing practice is the most important.We can use the model in 3a and the questions in 3b to teach the students how to write a diary.Meanwhile,we can guide them to write by using PPT.After writing,the students can correct and polish what they write together and tell which is the best.The students must learn to use the simple past tense and the first person while writing a diary.Besides,while we are practicing words and expressions about the main topic,the teacher should help the students review the simple past tense,the past forms of verbs and indefinite pronouns.And tell them to do more practice after school.
