Text 5
M: Look, this person in front is driving so slowly. He’s holding everyone else up. Look at all the cars behind us. It only takes one to cause chaos like this.
W: The weather is partly to blame. Some people drive slowly because of the ice. (5)
Text 6
M: What do you think about online learning (7)
W: I think online learning is great. (6) The thing I like best is that you don’t have to wait to go to class. You can learn about something anytime you want.
M: Is the quality as good, though
W: I think so. There are so many resources to help you. I think it’s very useful and convenient. (6)
M: Is it good for learning languages
W: Yes, you may even talk directly to a native speaker for speaking practice.

Text 10
This is an important customer announcement. Our food delivery, which was due at 6:00 a.m., has been delayed because of a traffic accident. (18) This means that many of our regular items such as fresh fruit, vegetables and chocolate milk are not currently available. I do apologize on behalf of the store, but unfortunately this was out of our control. We will be able to offer alternatives(替代品), such as canned food. If there are any items that you cannot find, please come to the customer service desk. We will see if we can arrange for them to be delivered to you later today, free of charge. But I’m afraid that we will only be able to deliver within 10 miles of the store. (19) For those who live farther than that, we would suggest coming back tomorrow or arranging a food delivery on our website. It costs $5 for a standard same-day delivery and $8 for delivery within two hours of placing your order. If there is anything else we can help you with, the customer service desk is beside the entrance. Also, don’t forget, we have a special on our Italian range of foods today. (20) We hope you have a good day.

Text 10 (第18题为推断题)
This year, we decided to give our first Lifetime Achievement Award to someone who we all know and love. This actor and I have been in direct competition for the same roles. (19) Most of the directors chose him. I’m still angry about a few. Ha-ha, I’m just joking. I can see the speech writer waving at me because I’m adding my own jokes. Getting back to the matter at hand, this actor has worked with everybody. There’s even a game to see if you can find a relationship with someone in six steps or less. In his early days of acting, he made a career out of playing bad boys. But in truth, he is the nicest and kindest person I’ve ever known, (20) and I am proud to call him a friend. Over the years he has starred in such classics as A Few Good Men, Sleepers, and the film Hollow Man. He is so famous that he has even played himself seven times, which must be some sort of record. So please rise to welcome our first Lifetime Achievement Award winner, Mr. Kevin Bacon. (20)
