With shoulders shivering, her tears cannot help streaming down her face.(她的双肩哆哆嗦嗦,眼泪情不自禁的从她脸上流下来。)。
1.与所给短文及段落开头语的衔接程度;
2.内容的丰富性;
3.应用语法结构和词汇的丰富性和准确性;
4.上下文的连贯性。

(2022·山东省枣庄市重点高中高三摸底考试)Recently I graduated from high school, and as a gift I received a huge bunch of flowers, 40 to be exact! I had so many that I didn't know what to do with them. The next weekend my niece and nephew, Sue and Mike, aged 6 and 7, came and suddenly I had an idea. I might let them give out these flowers to people they met on the street, and in this way they could learn how to be friendly to others. So I told them about my plan and explained that these flowers would make people feel happy and smile. They loved the idea and were eager to have a try. So at once we took every single flower and tied a smile card to it. We then went to the street with the flowers.
The first flower went to a policeman. As soon as she saw the policeman, my niece ran up to him and handed him a flower. His smile was so big, but hers was even bigger!
In no time, we neared the end of our flowers. It was lunch time and we went to Subway for lunch. There the kids gave a flower to the waitress, who was really excited to receive the flower. As we were eating our lunch, the waitress came up to the kids with two big chocolate cookies! She said the chocolate cookies were for them and that she really liked the flower! As they ate the cookies, my niece and nephew looked at me with the biggest smiles l had ever seen.

With just one flower left, I said it should be given to the person who needed it most. Just then, my nephew caught sight of an old woman in a wheelchair nearby.“I think she's the very person for the flower. She lives a hard life because of bad health. She needs smiles most,” said my nephew. With these words, my nephew, followed by my niece, took the flower up to her. You can imagine how happy the old woman looked! She smiled, and gave each of the kids a big kiss.
It turned out to be a great day for us. We spread a lot of smiles by giving out flowers, and received a lot of smiles in return. The flowers not only made us feel good about ourselves, but also made 40 other people feel happy. I feel there is nothing more enjoyable than being friendly to people. Meanwhile, the kids learned an important lesson in the process. In fact, they can't wait until next time they have such a chance again. They want to give out more flowers!

The moment arrived, I wan nervous that it was my time to speak in the group. With a stutter (结巴), my first words came out of my mouth. “Hey my name is Jesus," 1 maid with n strong Mexican accent. After a year of hard work and long practices came my first success in reading. “We are going to do popcorn reading," Mr Cerda said, with a loud voice. I sat there anxiously, part of me hoped he wouldn't call me, but part of me wanted to get the reading over with. Suddenly, I found myself reading the famous words of Dr Seuss,“ You're off to great places. Today is your day! Your Mountain is waiting, so... get on your way!” When I finished reading, all I heard was silence. My classmates were in shock, and I realized my words were as clear as they can be.
A simple “Hey how are you” could be the icebreaker between people. I was a shy kid and I grew up thinking that I was going to be friendless forever. However, I eventually discovered that making friends and meeting new people was actually pretty easy. Whatever the case may be, my grades and ability to speak improved. I participated in tutorials, science fairs, and even competition for academics. All of this became possible when I found confidence in myself because of the inspirational words from Dr Seuss.

(2022·辽宁省名校联盟高三联合考试月考)Everything about moving day was a puzzle. I didn't know anything about our new building on a new street. Our old life was broken into pieces and packed up in piled boxes. I wondered if it would ever fit back together again.
Mom introduced me to our new neighbours, the Chens. Mrs Chen worked with Mom at the job she'd just started. Mr Chen was a famous craftsman(匠人)from China.
Mom said it was a fresh start, but it felt broken to me. I just wanted things to go back to how they had been before.
After the first day at my new school, I walked home alone. Mom had told me she had to work. I was still hoping she'd meet me after the bell. I had to open the door myself with the new key. I felt a bit hungry and went straight into the kitchen, ripping tape from the packed boxes while I searched for a clean plate. My fingers slipped, and something went crashing to the ground.
“Benjamin” cried Mom from the doorway. I didn't hear her come in. “What just broke ” she asked, kneeling to pick up the pieces. In her hands, I recognized the shattered pieces. It was Grandma's bowl. “I can't believe you broke this,” she said.
“Well, I can't believe we have to live here now! I can't believe I have to switch schools, and I can't believe you didn't even meet me after my first day” I ran into my room, slamming the door behind me. The broom swept across the kitchen floor. Then the click of Mom's bedroom door closed behind her. I sneaked out into the kitchen and found the fragments in the dustbin. There were so many pieces in here, but maybe I could put them back together. Turning the pieces, I tried to match them, but this bowl would never look the same again.
“I'm sorry I yelled," said Mom, as she opened her door. “Please just throw out the pieces. We can't make a fresh start with broken things.” As I wandered down the hall, Mr Chen was emptying his garbage.

“Are you sure you want tothrow that out ” he asked. My throat twisted into a knot. “It's broken," I murmured. “That's a simple e.” In their apartment, Mr Chen spread the broken pieces out like a jigsaw puzzle. After finding each match, he taught me to delicately rebuild the bowl, filling in the crack lines with a special paint. Finally, the bowl was together again. I held it gently in the palm of my hand and admired it for long. Slightly different, it was as beautiful as before. I couldn't wait to show it to Mom and rushed back home.
I brought the repaired bowl into her room. Obviously, she was more than surprised to see the bowl again. “It's amazing” she marveled, running her fingertip over the fixed cracks.“Mr Chen helped me mend it. He is a superb craftsman,” I said with a grin. “Definitely. After being repaired, it looks much stronger than before" said Mom, smiling radiantly. I sat on the edge of her bed, and Mom reached out to me. Our hands joined with crisscrossed fingers, we both knew this was a new beginning.

(2022·江苏省高三第一次百校联考)Many years ago there lived in Holland a boy named Peter. Peter's father was one of the men who tended the gates in the dikes(堤坝),called sluices. He opened and closed the sluices so that ships could pass out of Holland's canals into the great sea.
One afternoon in the early fall, when Peter was eight years old, his mother called him from his play. “Come, Peter," she said. “I want you to go across the dike and take these cakes to your friend, the blind man. Remember that you shall be home before dark. " The little boy was glad to go on such an errand (跑腿), and started off with a light heart. He stayed with the poor blind man a little while to tell him something about his walk along the dike-the sun, the flowers and the ships far out at sea. Then he remembered his mother's wish that he should return before dark. Bidding his friend goodbye, he set out for home.
As he walked beside the canal, he noticed how the rains had swollen the water, and how they beat against the side of the dike, and he thought of his father's gates. “I am glad they are so strong," he said to himself. “If the dike gave way what should we do These pretty fields would be covered with water." As he walked along the dike he sometimes stopped to pick the pretty blue flowers that grew beside the road, or to listen to the rabbits' soft tread as they rustled through the grass.
Suddenly he heard a noise. It was the sound of trickling water! He stopped and looked down. There was a small hole in the dike, through which a tiny stream was flowing. Any child in Holland is frightened at the thought of a leak in the dike. Peter understood the danger at once. If the water ran through a little hole it would soon make a larger one, and the whole country would be flooded. In a moment he saw what he must do. Throwing away his flowers, he climbed down the side of the dike and thrust his finger into the tiny hole. The flowing of the water was stopped!“Oh!” he said to himself. “I can keep the water back with my finger. Holland shall not be drowned while I am here.”
This was all very well at first, but soon it grew dark and cold. The little fellow shouted and screamed. “Come here; come here,” he called. But no one heard him; no one came to help him.

It grew still colder, and his arm ached, and began to grow stiff and numb. He shouted again. “Will no one come Mother! Mother!” But his mother had looked anxiously along the dike road many times since sunset for her little boy, and now she had closed and locked the cottage door, thinking that Peter was spending the night with his blind friend, and that she would scold him in the morning for staying away from home without permission. Peter tried to whistle, but his teeth chattered with the cold. He thought of his brother and sister in their warm beds, and of his dear father and mother. “I must not let them be drowned," he thought. “I must stay here until someone comes.”
The moon and stars looked down on the child crouching (蹲)on a stone on the side of the dike. His head was bent, and his eyes were closed, but he was not asleep. “I'll stand it somehow," he thought. So, he stayed there all night keeping the sea out. Early the next morning a man going to work heard a groan as he walked along the top of the dike. Looking over the edge, he saw a child clinging to the side of the great wall. “ What's the matter ” he called. “ Are you hurt ”“I'm keeping the water back!” Peter yelled. “Tell them to come quickly!” The alarm was spread. People came running with shovels and the hole was soon mended. They carried Peter home to his parents, and before long the whole town knew that he had saved their lives that night.

Suddenly, Mary caught sight of a black box under the chair where Linda put her bag. She went over and then opened the box to find Linda's tape was just inside. At that time, she was in a dilemma, “This is my chance to defeat her.” But on a second thought, she changed her mind, “If I hide it, I will win the competition but I may lose something.” She placed it on the chair carefully, leaving a note saying “Take it easy, we are the best.” Soon, it's her turn to come on the stage.

(2022·重庆市南开中学高三第四次质量检测)The five children in Larrane Leech's day care group were outdoors early, painting landscapes under the dizzy sun. By 10 am, it was time to find shade, so Larrane decided they would walk down to the river.
“We're going to pick berries now,” she announced. A nature lover, Larrane insisted they spend as much time as possible outdoors. Larrane handed each child an empty jar and called for Pal, her one-year-old German shepherd(德国牧羊犬)。The group made its way over the dusty road and then onto a dirt path through the trees. They stopped at
the first berry bush and got busy picking berries, cheering and talking excitedly.
A young cougar (美洲狮) cocked an ear toward the birdlike chatter and sniffed the air. Stepping over the thick carpet of pine needles, the cougar moved quietly toward the children.
Larrane sensed the children suddenly go quiet. She looked up to see the back end of a cougar, the size of Pal, standing over one child, Mikey. The sight of the cougar near her kids immediately froze Larrane. Larrane couldn't tell whether Mikey had been bitten. Her mind racing wildly, she darted toward the cougar. Desperately intending to grab its tail, she shifted aim at the last minute and seized the cougar by the neck. She shook it from side to side. Instantly, the cougar wheeled toward Larrane. Growling and hissing, it stretched up high and brought its paws down upon the head of the woman. Although still in its youth, it had all the teeth and muscle a cougar needs to pull down a victim three times its size. This animal was capable of killing her.

Now aware of the danger, the other four children screamed and ran behind Larrane. They picked up branches from the ground and began attacking the cougar. However, their strikes only managed to anger the fierce beast. Letting out a threatening howl, it scratched Larrane head. Blood began to flow down Larrane's face, but she held tightly onto its neck to prevent its deadly bite. Just then, Pal came to her rescue. He sank his sharp teeth into the beast and tore 'open its flesh while dragging it backward. Facing such united enemy, the cougar had to admit defeat and flee.
Larrane rushed to Mikey, who lay quietly on the ground. He was still breathing. “Thank God! He's alive.”Larrane thought in relief, but he was disturbingly still because he was in total shock. “ We have to run home now." She said calmly to the terrified children, “Everything will be all right. " With Mikey on her back and the other children following her, she ran all the way back to the day care center. The other staff helped her put Mikey down on a bed. That was when she finally had time to attend to her wound. Larrane met the greatest challenge of her life head-on and won. (2022·河北省高三联考)I had moved to Arizona about two weeks before the start of my junior year of high school, so not only was this a new school for me, but also a new state and I did not know anyone.
On the first day of school at lunch after getting my meal, I sat down at a table in the courtyard. As I began to eat, I looked around at the other tables and saw another girl sitting alone, so I decided to go and sit with her. Anyway, there was no reason for me to have a whole table to myself, and who knew maybe I could make a friend. I walked to check and said, “Excuse me, do you mind if I sit with you " She was surprised at first, but then smiled and said, “No, I don't!”
We hit it off immediately and became close friends throughout the next two years. Towards the end of our senior year, she told me that she had been accepted to an out-of-state college and would be moving away after graduation. I was sad that I would miss her but at the same time was really happy for her.
She then shared with me something very moving. “Do you remember the first day of school when you came over and sat down with me during lunch ” she asked. “Of course! Why do you ask ” I replied.
She continued, “I want to let you know how special you are and that you make a difference. I was severely depressed that day, because something unhappy had happened to me that morning. I had been being sad since the morning and nobody realized my sadness. It had just broken me down. If you hadn't appeared, I would be probably in deep sadness for a long time after I got home from school.”

She felt lonely and hopeless until I approached her warmly, From then on,we two often learned together and shared happiness and sorrow.
Both of us gained a lot from the incident. She said that it was my company and encouragement that not only made her happy, but also improved her confidence. For me, it was her sincerity that helped me adapt to anew life. I can't help but smile every time because I am really grateful to know the girl grows up healthily. (2022·广东省高三阶段性质量检测)If there's one thing I can't stand people saying, it is “I'm no good at anything, I don't have any talent”,I just don't buy that at all. To me, everyone has at least one talent, and while it sometimes takes you a lifetime to find, it does exist. There was a time when I didn't believe that. What changed my mind was a seemingly small event that took place in 1953.
At that time I was a high school student. I was a funny-looking skinny boy named Eugene Orowitz, who weighed barely 100 pounds, I was a good student, but as far as I was concerned, in just about every other department I was a loser. I wanted to fit in, to be someone and do something well. But I hadn't found anything I was good at. One sunny afternoon, our gym class went out to the school's running track. The teacher taught us all various track and field event8. I was a loser in all of them, Then came the javelin(标枪),Suddenly something inside me began saying, "Try it! Try it” I had to wait my turn, though, trying not to look too eager. Finally, when everyone had had a chance to throw-the best throw going about 30 yards-I looked at the teacher.
“Hey, Orowitz, you want to try " he asked.
Embarrassed, I looked down, but managed to nod my head.
“Well, come on then," he said impatiently, and handed me the javelin. Behind me I could hear some of my classmates laughing. As I grasped the javelin in my hand, I was seized with a strange feeling-a new-found excitement. For some crazy reason, I was relaxed over what I was about to do, even though I'd never done it before. I raised the javelin over my head, took six quick steps and let the thing go. The same voice that had urged me to throw it, now told me it was a good throw.

I watched as the javelin took off. My heart quickened as I saw it continue to sail, 30 yards out, then 40 yards. As it went past the 50- yard mark, it was still going. For a minute nothing was said. I took the javelin back to the gym teacher. “You keep the thing.” he said, still shaking his head in wonder.
That night I took the javelin home with me. The very next day, I began practicing with it, and every day that summer-for six hours or more-I would throw it in a nearby schoolyard. By the time I was a member of the track team, all my practice paid off. I threw the javelin 211 feet that year, the best throw by any high-school boy in the country. (2022·山东省青岛市第五十八中学高三期中考试)My great grandfather, my grandfather and my father are farmers, and so are all my family. My father has a fixed idea that I would become a farmer too. Although I respect him and am indeed skilled at doing some farm work, I don't agree that I should automatically follow in my father's footsteps.
When I was a teenager, my father happened to take me to an airport which belonged to one of his friends. It was the first time I had seen an aeroplane in real life. Knowing that I had never been on board, my father's friend Tom offered me an opportunity to fly with him in his small aeroplane. I quickly accepted his offer! When we took off, I felt nervous but thrilled. Being up in the clouds and looking at the view below was unlike anything I had ever felt. I was just enjoying it. I assumed being a pilot would be the most awesome thing in the whole world. From that day a thought crept into my mind that I wanted to become a pilot, but I doubted whether my father would support me. After all, it was a totally different path from what he had planned for me. Therefore, I put the thought to the back of my mind, because I knew he would still insist on holding onto his previous idea.
Anyway, besides helping my father on the farm, I would frequently visit Tom's airport. Gradually, I got familiar with every button and switch on the aircraft and I learned a lot about planes, such as how to fill the plane with fuel, how to check the engines and so on. But what I had learned just left me wanting more, so I decided to go to college to become a professional pilot.

Cali looked up at her aunt and uncle with her big brown eyes.“Figure' skates Wow! How nice of you! But,” the little girl hesitated,“… but I don't know how to skate. ” She looked embarrassed.
"Don't worry," said Aunt Lisa. “That's the fun part-learning how to do it!”
“That's right," said Uncle George. “We will take you to the ice rink(冰场) and all go skating together.”
“I don't know ...,” said Cali. She wasn't too sure she was going to be able to do it. Sometimes she had a hard time learning new things. She looked again at the happy girl on the box. It did look like fun. Cali imagined herself moving and turning on the ice like a real figure skater.“Okay,” she agreed. “Let's do it!”
The next day Cali went to the skating rink with her aunt and uncle. Her eyes twinkled and her face lit up with excitement as she looked at the other skaters around her. She sat down on the bench and slipped her feet into the skates. Holding the strings in her fingers, she could not figure out how to tie them up. “I don't know how to do it,” she said. She felt sad that this was another thing she couldn't do.
"Let me show you." Her aunt bent down on one knee, explaining how to put the strings around the small hooks(钩子),Then she tied them into a tight bow, "Now, you do the other skate yourself. I'll help you if you need it." Cali bent over the skate and did what her aunt had showed her. Her tongue stuck out of the side of her mouth as she paid attention. After a few tries, she worked out how to cross the strings around the hooks. Her aunt helped make sure the strings were nice and tight. "You did in!” smiled her aunt, patting Cali on the back.

“Time to hit the ice,” her uncle said. As he helped her walk to the edge of the rink, he said, “ We will hold your hands and you stand between us. ” Cali took their hands in hers and made her first step onto the smooth ice. She grinned and tried taking a few steps. “Good, Cali. Now try to glide on one foot for just a second longer on each foof as you walk,” suggested her aunt. Then her uncle skated in front of her while her aunt guided her from behind. “Skate to your uncle now,” she said, pushing her on the back a little to get more speed. Cali glided unsteadily towards her uncle, taking small steps and fighting for balance. When she reached her uncle, he encouraged her to try it on her own. Cali wasn't too sure about that. It seemed like everyone else was zooming past her. She started to get nervous. She lost her balance.
Oof! She fell down, hard. It hurt. She closed her eyes and tried not to cry. In a moment, her uncle was helping her back on feet. He smiled into her eyes. “Everyone falls down the first few times. You just have to get back up again.” Cali took a deep breath. “Okay, I can do this." She skated away from her uncle toward the crowd. As she wobbled, she talked to herself. “ Be brave. Keep going. Small steps. Yes!" She had skated almost all the way around the rink, by herself! Her aunt caught up to her and took her hand. “Look at you! You are working so hard and doing so well. We're proud of you," said Aunt Lisa.
