Lesson 34：Flying Donuts
【教材分析】
冀教版八年级英语（上）第六单元是围绕“Go with Transportation”展开的。Lesson34: Flying Donuts是本单元的第四课时，属于听说课。内容是以陈述对话的形式介绍Danny发明的新交通工具。主要激发学生的学习兴趣，培养学生的想象力以及动口描述、听取重点信息的能力。本课词汇量较大，以教授、运用、任务为主。　
【学情分析】
八年级的学生较七年级的学生而言学习兴趣略有下降，两极分化日趋明显。学生有了一定的语言基础，但听说能力急需加强。
b. 孩子们都喜欢直观形象思维，想象力丰富，对游戏、竞赛、学生间交流分享比较感兴趣。

a. 掌握并灵活运用重点词汇：invention(invent,inventor), probably, imagination, presentation, turn on, stay up late等。　　　　　　　　　　　　
b. 准备语言材料，介绍交通工具。

过程与方法
采取逐步引导、由浅入深的方法，让学生逐渐掌握重点，准备好语言材料，培养学生积极运用语言的能力。
情感态度与价值观
培养学生乐于学习英语、积极发挥主体想象力的情感，提高全体学生的听说能力。
【重点难点】
重点：掌握运用重点单词、短语、句型，如invention(invent, inventor) , turn on, I would like to present my invention. To go ten kilometres, you need ten donuts.等。
难点：运用所学知识介绍自己想象中的交通工具。
【教学过程】
Step I. Warm up
Greetings
Review all kinds of transportation by watching a video
通过学生熟知的未来卡通人物“多拉爱梦”影片来活跃课堂气氛，复习各种交通工具，并激发学生的想象力为后续设计交通工具做准备。
Step II. Lead in
Free talk.---通过Can you guess what transportation I like best 话题继续复习交通工具，激发学生想象力，并引出Danny想象中的交通工具。
Step III. Preparation
Words learning---通过Guessing Game 培养学生语境认读能力，学习课文中重点单词，为课文学习做准备。
Step IV. Listening
Listen to the dialogue carefully and answer the two questions.
1.When did Danny buy ten Donuts
2.What does Danny call his invention
由单词学习做准备环节进入练习学生听力环节，让学生基本听懂材料内容，抓住主要信息。
Step V. Language points
1.Reading---设计问题“How does Danny’s invention work ” “How far will you go if you have five donuts ”让学生再次熟悉课文内容，为后续交通工具设计环节准备语言材料。
2.Group work---通过几个重点句型，学习课文主要语言点，并了解一些介绍交通工具的句子。如：First, you put on the Flying Donuts bag on your back. Then you turn it on and jump into the air.
Step VI. Practice
通过过关奖励游戏，设计相关的习题，复习巩固语言点，活跃课堂气氛，为后续想象交通工具培养氛围。 学生通过集体力量完成四关中各种题型，可获得宝箱。

Step VII. Task

情感升华：Imagination is more important than knowledge.
Homework: 1.Try telling your best friend your invention in English.
