本单元开始出现小说阅读，单元话题是：talk about recent events and experiences。学生在学习该单元时，需要接触大量的与话题相关的词汇及背景知识。本节阅读课根据单元话题和学习需求，通过创设具体情境，进行文化背景的渗透，引导学生进行语言学习和阅读技巧的训练，讲练结合，使得学生掌握语言知识和实用的阅读技能，并能用以实践。
教材分析（和整合）
该单元的语言目标是：talk about recent events and experiences。学生在学习该单元时，需要接触大量的与话题相关的词汇及背景知识。这是一节主题为“The story About Music”的阅读课，采用任务型教学，创设情境为“音乐电台的DJ引导听众了解乡村音乐及文化背景——分享听众Sarah与乡村音乐结缘的故事——分享听众（学生）的故事”，分为读前、读中和读后三个环节，在学习中渗透人文素养，引导学生意识到音乐的重要性。
1.读前环节，围绕文本话题，启动先行认知，在文化背景和语言知识两方面，为阅读扫除一定的障碍。
2.读中环节，梳理文本内容，凸显主线learn about country music——share Sarah’s story——know Sarah’s dream。围绕主题进行阅读训练，并使用阅读技巧（Prediction, Skimming, Scanning）完成阅读任务。
3.读后环节，引导学生结合原有认知，对文本进行概述（Summarizing）。然后，从学生情感的共鸣点进行设问，引导学生完成主题任务（make your story record）。
