教学过程:
一、Pre-reading
1. Greeting
2. Leading-in
教师活动:教师让学生探讨Carol和Tom的生活习惯,并思考下列问题:
1. What good habits do Carol and Tom have Tick the boxes above.
Carol:
√ goes to sleep at 10 p.m. and gets up at 6: 30 a.m.
√ likes eating fruit and vegetables
Tom:
√ has breakfast every day
√ likes drinking fresh juice and
√ enjoys playing sport in his spare time
2. How can Carol and Tom improve their lifestyles
Carol should have breakfast every day and take part in outdoor activities and give up milk tea.
Tom should go to sleep on time and eat few hamburgers.
3. What is your lifestyle like How can you improve it

While-reading
1. 教师活动:1. Think about the following questions before you read the text.
(1)Do you think senior high school students should pay much attention to their weight Why or why not
Yes. Because if they are overweight, they will become unhealthy.
(2)What do you think are healthy ways of losing weight
The healthy ways of losing weight are having a balanced diet and doing more sports.
2. Introduce the meaning of "news report" to students.
A news report usually starts with a lead. It gives the most important information about an event. Then the following paragraphs give more detailed information about the event. Some news reports go on to provide background or supporting information.
新闻报道通常以导语开头。它提供了一个事件最重要的信息。然后,下面的段落给出了关于该事件的更详细的信息。一些新闻报道还继续提供背景或辅助性信息。
3. Students read the news report and complete the chart.
Part 1 (The lead): Para.1 A teenage girl fainted at school yesterday after skipping meals.
Part 2 (More detailed information about the event): Para.2-4 Jennifer passed out and was found to have dangerously low blood sugar levels. She has not eaten breakfast for the last few months to lose weight, which causes she has trouble concentrating in class.
Part 3 (Background or supporting information): Para. 5 Unhealthy weight-loss habits have become common among teenagers of both sexes.
Para. 6-7 Living well by having a healthy balanced diet, keeping regular hours and getting plenty of exercise is the safest and most effective way to get into shape.
学生活动:通过教师介绍了解新闻报道,同时在阅读后划分文章结构。
2. 学生活动:Read the news report again carefully and answer the following questions.
1) Why was Jennifer rushed to hospital
Because she was feeling unwell and then passed out in her morning PE lesson.
2) What did Laura do when she found out Jennifer was skipping meals
Laura warned her that skipping meals was unhealthy.
3) What are some of the dangerous methods teenagers use to lose weight
Regularly skipping meals; over-exercise and taking weight-loss medicine.
4) What lifestyle tips did the expert give
The tips include having a healthy balanced diet, keeping regular hours and getting plenty of exercise.
活动目的: 通过仔细阅读文章,学生回答相关问题同时理解文章细节。
三、After-reading
1. 教师活动:Discuss the following questions in pairs.
1) A news report headline should tell the reader what happened and draw their attention. Can you think of another headline for this report
Living well to get into shape.
2) Jennifer is now in hospital. Suppose you are Jennifer's best friend. What would you say to her
Health is more important so if you want to lose weight, you can keep a balanced diet, do more exercise and live a healthy lifestyle.
3) What are the possible causes of weight problems Make a list.
The causes may be: eating too much unhealthy food, eating few vegetables and fruits; taking less exercise and not having enough sleep and so on.
活动目的:通过对文本的再次深入解读,感受文章所传达的思想,并与同伴的讨论,学习文章写作方法,体会文章内涵,在讨论中促进学生之间合作意识。
2. 学生活动:完成B1练习,并与同伴核对答案。
四、Summary
