Step 1 Warming-up
Free talk
T shows some fairy stories and ask Ss the following questions:
What famous stories have you read
What are they about
Look and say
Look at the videl and have a free talk.

Step 2 Pre-listening
Let’s learn
(1) T shows some pictures and the sentences describing the pictures. Then learn the new words or expressions in the sentences as a whole class.
(2) After learning, T can ask Ss to make sentences with the new words or expressions.
【设计意图】学习新单词,为学习本课时的内容做铺垫。
Activity 1.
(1) Read the words aloud with Ss and check if they understand the meanings.
(2) Play the recording. Ask Ss to listen and number the words individually.
(3) Play the recording again and check answers as a class.
【设计意图】通过活动达到听力热身的目的。本活动比较简单,有利于增强学生的自信心。
Activity 2.
(1) Look at the pictures and read the descriptions under each picture with the Ss. Do some explanations if necessary.
(2) Play the recording and ask Ss to number the pictures.
(3) Play the recording once more for Ss to check the answers in pairs then check them together.
设计意图:学生通过理解语篇并将文字内容与图片对应,之后两人一组核对答案,培养学生的合作意识,锻炼学生的倾听习惯。
Listen and fill
Read the incomplete passage first, then listen to the recording and complete the passage.

Step 3 While-listening
Activity 3.
(1) Listen and answer the questions.
First, ask Ss to read the questions and make sure they want to do.
Then, play the recording and ask Ss try to answer the questions.
Finally, play the recording again and check the answers together.
(2) Now complete the notes.
First, ask Ss to look at the notes and guess the missing information.
Then, ask Ss to read the conversation and underline the key information to help them complete the notes.
Finally, ask Ss to complete the notes individually and check answers as a class.
【设计意图】带着问题听对话,练习学生的听力能力以及抓取关键信息的能力。
Step 4 Post-listening
Listen, read and role-play
First, ask Ss to read the conversation following the recording.
Then, read the conversation in pairs and try to role-play it.
Finally, choose some Ss to role-play the conversation at the front.
Language points
1. It’s about a girl called Alice. 它是一个关于叫爱丽丝的女孩的故事。
called 是 call 的过去分词,意为“叫做;称为”,放名词之后作定语。 句中的called可与named互换使用,表达相同的意思。
2. One day Alice was sitting with her sister by the river and saw a white rabbit with a watch.有一天,爱丽丝正和她姐姐坐在河边,她看到一只戴着手表的白兔。
本句用了过去进行时来表示过去某个具体时间正在进行的动作,其结构为:was / were + v.-ing。
3. Why was it running 它为什么跑?
why是特殊疑问词,意为“为什么” 。这是由why引导的过去进行时的特殊疑问句。其结构为:特殊疑问词 + was / were + 主语 + v.-ing + 其他
4. Alice followed it and fell down a hole in the ground.爱丽丝跟着它,掉进了地上的一个洞里。
follow 作动词,意为“跟随;紧跟” 。常用短语:follow sb. to do sth. 跟着某人做某事
5. It was sitting in a tree and was smiling at everyone.他正坐在树上,朝大家微笑。

Activity 4
Ask Ss to complete the sentences with the words in the box. Then check the answers.
Activity 5
1. Ss read the conversations individually and predict the stress.
2. Play the recording and ask Ss to underline the words the speaker stresses.
3. Check answers as a class.
4. Play the recording again and tell Ss to listen and repeat chorally.
5. Ask some Ss to read the sentences. Check that they are using an intonation pattern and don’t sound flat.

Activity 6
1. Read the instructions and model conversation with the class. Make sure they know what they are going to do.
2. Tell Ss to work in pairs and do the interview.
