一、教学目标
1. 掌握并灵活运用本模块词汇和短语:pale, appear, round, corner, hit, glad, in time, fall off, risk, side by side, pay attention, bit, climb, hide, throw, fridge, pain, worse, medicine
2. 复习巩固本模块语法;
3. 了解事故报道的书写格式和要素;
4. 能够独立完成一次事故的报道;
5. 通过学习,使学生认识到注意安全的重要性。
二、教学重点及难点
重点:
复习过去进行时与when 和while 引导的时间状语从句连用的语法;
引导学生学习如何写一则有关事故的新闻报道。
难点:学生综合所学知识,写一则有关一次事故的新闻报道。
三、教学准备
1. 多媒体设备和课件;
2. 设计课后巩固练习;
3. 教学图片。
四、教学过程
Step 1 Warming-up
Complete the sentences to review Ss have learned in this module.
【设计意图】通过做练习检查学生们对本单元词汇的掌握情况。
Step 2 Presentation
Learn the grammar in this module.
Step 3 Practice
1. Do some grammar exercises.
2. Work on Activity 7
(1) Listen and check
T plays the recording and ask Ss to listen and check(√) the true sentences.
(2) Read and choose
Ask Ss to read the passage carefully and choose the correct answer.
(3) Read and fill
Ask Ss to read the passage again, and then complete the sentences.
【设计意图】本活动包含三个步骤:学生首先听短文,判断句子正误;然后再读短文,选择正确答案;最后根据短文内容填写句子。主要考查的是学生对细节信息的理解。
4. Read the passage in Around the world, and then talk about the following questions in groups.

【设计意图】本活动介绍了一次著名的事故——哈德孙河迫降。在这次事故中,飞行员成功化解了险境,挽救了乘客的生命。本活动拓展了学生们的视野,使他们了解一些相关的背景知识。让学生们就话题展开讨论,活跃课堂气氛,增强学生对英语学习的兴趣。

Step 4 Production
Work on Module task: writing a news report about an accident
T: Boys and girls, now please work in your group and do Activity 8-11.
1. Work on Activity 8
T: Try to think about a recent accident you know of and write notes. Please pay attention to the following questions.
(1) When and where did it happen
(2) Why did it happen
(3) How did it happen
(4) What happened after the accident
2. Work on Activity 9
T: Now use your notes and the following sentence pattern to write sentences for your news report about the accident.
(1) A terrible accident happened at…
(2) (Name) was…
(3) He/She was not…
(4) The accident happened because…
(5) After the accident…
3. Work on Activity 10&11
(1) T asks Ss to join the sentences they wrote in Activity 9 and write their report. Use when, while, so, because and then.
(2) T asks Ss to share their reports in groups and revise the news reports.
(3) T shows Ss an example.
(4) T asks Ss to share their news reports at the front.
(5) Choose the best news report in class.
【设计意图】本模块的任务是写一篇事故报道。通过第一单元和第二单元的学习,学生对“事故”这个话题已经比较熟悉。教师可以按照本阶段的活动设计,分步引导学生报道一次事故。
