Unit 1 In China, we open a gift later.
一、教学目标
1. 掌握词汇:cap, chess, set, a chess set, chopstick, toy, video, video game, gift, surprise, immediately, difference, accept, tradition, example, for example, must, month, serious, taste
2. 掌握句型:
(1) I don’t think I should open it now. In China, we open a gift later. You needn’t wait!
(2) ...you mustn’t do any cleaning on the first day of the Spring Festival. You can’t be serious!
3. 能够听懂接收礼物的方式和打开礼物的时间的不同。
4. 能够谈论在学校或者在餐桌上的礼仪和习惯。
5. 能够正确朗读情态动词和含有情态动词的句子。
6. 能够正确使用情态动词must / must not / can / can not / need / needn’t等。
7. 能够了解尊重其他国家的传统习俗和生活方式。
二、教学重点及难点
重点:掌握听懂接收礼物的方式和打开礼物的时间的不同。
难点:掌握谈论在学校或者在餐桌上的礼仪和习惯。

1. 多媒体设备和课件;
2. 设计课后巩固练习;
3. 教学图片。
四、教学过程
Step 1 Warming-up
T shows some pictures to the class and asks them to watch. Then T and Ss make sentences with must and mustn’t.
【设计意图】通过看图片,结合图片内容用must和mustn’t造句,使学生自然地使用情态动词must,激发学生的兴趣,导入新课。
Step 2 Pre-listening
1. T lists the new words and leads the class to read aloud.
2. T asks Ss to do some word exercises to remember the new words.
【设计意图】对本模块的生词进行学习和训练,并掌握读音和拼写。
3. T plays the recording and asks Ss to listen and number the words and expressions.
4. T shows the answers and asks the class to check out their answers.
5. T asks Ss to match the words and expressions in Activity 1 with the pictures.
【设计意图】通过听力选词和图片连线加深学生对单词的理解和掌握。
Step 3 While-listening
1. T shows some questions and lets Ss skim them.
2. T plays the recording for the class and asks them to find the answers to the questions.
3. After listening, T asks the class to check (√) what them usually do in China.
4. T asks Ss to complete the table about different behavior between China and the West.
5. T chooses several Ss to read their answers.
6. T shows the answers and lets the class check their answers.
7. Listen and read the dialogue.
【设计意图】此环节注重考查学生对课文的理解能力,通过听录音回答问题, 锻炼学生筛选关键信息的能力。
Step 4 Post-listening
1. Learn some language points.
(1) What a surprise!
玲玲没有想到朋友们竟然还记得她的生日,所以感到有些惊讶。What a surprise!常用来表达对意外的事情的惊讶之情。例如:
I saw my sister’s photograph on a magazine cover. What a surprise!我看到姐姐的照片上了杂志的封面,真令人惊讶!
Hi!What a surprise to see you here.嗨!真没想到会在这儿见到你。
(2) It’s bad luck!
玲玲给他们将中国春节的风俗习惯,讲到不可以摔坏东西的时候,我们通常认为是不好的征兆,是不吉利的。It’s bad luck!不吉利的。
(3) You can’t be serious!
当玲玲讲到我们中国的习俗正月里不要理发的时候,托尼非常惊讶,表示不敢相信!You can’t be serious!不会吧!常用来表示不敢相信的事情,如:
He can’t be serious!他一定是开玩笑吧!
【设计意图】帮助学生掌握本课语言点。
2. T asks Ss to complete the passage with the words in the box.
3. Ss discuss their answers with their partners.
【设计意图】通过让学生做练习,加深他们对所学对话内容的理解。
4. T asks Ss to read and predict how the speaker will pronounce the underlined words.
5. T plays the recording for Ss and asks them to listen and check.
6. The whole class read the sentences aloud.
【设计意图】 让学生朗读含有情态动词的句子,并预测情态动词的发音,然后通过听录音并大声朗读句子,帮助学生纠正发音,培养正确的语音语调。
7. T asks Ss to think about what they must and mustn’t / can’t do in the situations.
8. Ss write some notes in the table.
9. Ss work in pairs and say what they must and mustn’t / can’t do.
10. T and Ss list some Chinese traditions mentioned in the conversation together.
【设计意图】通过让学生思考并写下不同情境中带有情态动词的句子,并让学生分组口头说出这些句子,从而培养学生的语言输出能力。
11. Let Ss do some exercises to consolidate what they have learned.
【设计意图】通过练习巩固本课所学知识,考查学生对知识的掌握程度。
