五、教学过程
Step 1 Warming-up
1. T asks Ss a question, “What is an earthquake ” Several Ss show their opinions. Then T gives the answer.
2. T and Ss learn some strange things before an earthquake.
【设计意图】教师通过提问有关地震的问题,让学生思考和学习地震方面的知识。
Step 2 Pre-reading
1. T shows some pictures about the new words and asks Ss to watch and read the new words.
2. T explains some uses of new words to Ss.
【设计意图】教师以图片的形式展示新单词,并对一些单词进行讲解,形象直观,很好地帮助学生理解和记忆单词。
3. T asks Ss to look at the pictures and ask and answer the questions in groups.
4. T asks Ss to look at the pictures and think about what to do in an earthquake.
【设计意图】通过问答活动激活话题,帮助学生熟悉阅读理解中可能会出现的词汇。同时通过小组活动,讨论在地震中应该如何保护自己。
Step 3 While-reading
1. Ss read the passage and check their answers to Activity 2.
【设计意图】 通过让学生阅读课文、进一步了解地震中进行自我保护的其它措施,帮助学生熟悉课文,拓宽思维。
2. Ss read the passage again and decide if the following actions are right or wrong.
【设计意图】培养学生获取及理解细节信息的能力。
Step 4 Post-reading
1. Learn the language points.
(1) Away表示“远离”。例如:
Stay away from the fire.离火远一点。
Mr. Parker is away this week.帕克先生这周不在。
(2) Keep clear of fires.
Keep clear of sth.表示“清除;摆脱;没有;不接触。”例如:
You should keep clear of alcohol if you’re driving.驾车时不应饮酒。
(3) Do not与don’t
意思上是一样的,都为不要做某事。
do not语气更为重些,起强调作用。例如:
Please don’t try this.请别试着这样做.
Please do not try this.请(千万)别试着这样做。
可以理解隐含意义为:若你真这样做,后果很严重!
【设计意图】通过总结课文难点与语法点,可以更好地使学生理解文本。
2. T asks Ss to answer the questions using the words and expressions in the box.
【设计意图】本活动为词汇运用练习,旨在通过对课文内容的回答,操练课文中出现的重点词汇和表达。
3. Fill in the blanks and then retell the passage.
【设计意图】通过完成文章构架并复述课文活动,帮助学生很好地进行语言输出。
5. T asks Ss to talk in pairs about all the places they think are possibly safe and dangerous both inside and outside the school.
【设计意图】通过结对讨论,可以激发学生兴趣,同时巩固本课所学。
6. T asks Ss to write some instructions about what to do in an earthquake.
7. Ss work in pairs to check and share their instructions.
