may与might没有太大的区别，形式上might是may的过去式，但在表示将来的可能情况时，might表示的可能性比may表示的可能性要小。如：
Tim may come tomorrow.
蒂姆明天可能来。
There might be some rain tomorrow night.
明天晚上可能会有些雨。
情态动词本身有一定的含义，为谓语动词增添情态色彩，表示说话人对有关行为或事物的态度和看法，认为有可能、应该或有必要等。情态动词无人称和数的变化，其后接的动词需用原形，其否定式是在情态动词后加上not。当我们想表达可能发生某事以及某人可能做某事时，可以用may/might。

亚马逊热带雨林（the Amazon Rainforest）主要位于南美洲的亚马逊平原，占地约550万平方公果，横跨巴西、哥伦比亚、秘鲁、委内瑞拉、尼瓜多尔、玻利维亚等多个国家。亚马逊热带雨林占据了世界雨林面积的一半，森林面积的20%，是全球最大、物种最多的热带雨林。
亚马孙河流域为世界最大流域，其雨林由东面的大西洋沿岸（林宽320公里）延伸到低地与安地斯山脉山麓丘陵相接处，形成一条林带，逐渐拓宽至1,900公里。雨林异常宽广，而且连绵不断，反映出该地气候特点：多雨、潮湿及普遍高温。
亚马孙热带雨林蕴藏着世界最丰富最多样的生物资源，昆虫、植物、鸟类及其他生物种类多达数百万种，其中许多科学上至今尚无记载。在繁茂的植物中有各类树种，包括香桃木、月桂类、棕榈、金合欢、黄檀木、巴西果及橡胶树。桃花心木与亚马孙雪松可作优质木材。主要野生动物有美洲虎、海牛、貘、红鹿、水豚和许多啮齿动物，亦有多种猴类，有“世界动植物王国”之称，也因为面积占全球雨林的一半，所以被称为“地球之肺”。
