Step I Warm-up
Look and say

Step II Pre-listening
Activity 1
1. Ask Ss to match the signs with the rules individually. Check the answers together.
2. Ask Ss to work in pairs to make their conversations. T shows one conversation as model.
3. Now work in pairs. Tell your partner the rules.
Activity 2
1. T plays the recording for twice. For the first time, Ss listen and answer the questions.
2. For the second time, listen and check the answers as a whole class. Tell Ss to look through the questions before listening.
Look and say
Ask Ss to look at the pictures and say the rules the signs stand for.
Step III While-listening
Activity 3
1. Ask Ss to listen to the conversation and choose the best answer.
2. Tell Ss to check (√) the rules mentioned in the conversation.
3. Ask Ss to work in pairs to find out the sentences which tell people what to do and not to do in Activity 3.
Step IV Post-listening
Activity 4
1. Ask Ss to write down what they cannot do in the museum. For example, “No shouting.”
2. Tell them to read what they write to their partner.
Language points
T explains some language points in detail.
1. No shouting, please! 请勿喧哗!
Don’t cross that rope! 不要越过那条绳子!
No photos. 请勿拍照。
课文中的这些语句表达的都是“禁止做某事”意思。
要表达这一意思可以采用以下几种结构:
(1) No + doing.
(2) No + 名词.
(3)祈使句
2. No wonder the place is empty! 难怪这个地方人不多。
(1) wonder可以做名词,意为“奇迹;奇观”。
(2) It’s no wonder that… 意为“难怪……”。
3. What a wonderful museum! 多么奇妙的博物馆呀!
What 感叹句: What + (a / an) + 形 + 名词 ( + 主语 + 谓语)!
4. Everyday English
(1) Ask Ss to read the sentences together.
(2) Choose some Ss to translate the sentences. If there is something wrong, T can correct them.
(3) T shows the Chinese meanings of the sentences in Everyday English and lets Ss translate Chinese into English.
Activity 5
1. Ss read the words in the box and make sure they know the meaning of each word.
2. Ss read the passage and get the main idea.
3. Let Ss complete the passage and then check the answers as a whole class.
Activity 6
1. T plays the recording and lets Ss underline the words the speaker stresses.
2. Let some Ss say their answers.
3. Play again and let Ss repeat after the recording.
设计意图:通过多种形式的练习及知识讲解,全面理解对话;掌握句子重读,学会运用正确的语音语调读句子。
Activity 7
T lets Ss work in pairs to discuss the rules in the classroom. T shows two pairs of sentences as model.
设计意图:通过识图标、编对话的方式,展开学生喜欢的话题,调动学生参与的积极性;通过讨论教室里的规则,学习禁止命令的表达。
