Grammar A: Giving instructions
1. We start a sentence with the base form of a verb when we want to tell
people what to do.
e.g. Put up a picture on the wall.
Paint the walls blue.

2. We often add do not / don’t in front of a verb or add no in front of a noun
or v-ing when we want to tell people not to do something. We can also use
the sentence structure “sb. must not do sth.” or “sb. be not allowed to do sth.”.

3. We often add please in a sentence to make an instruction more polite.
