Language points
Point
humorous作形容词,由“humor(n.幽默)+ -ous(形容词后缀)”构成,在句中可作表语或定语。
-ous是常见的形容词后缀,通常放在名词后,表示“有……的”。如:danger(n.危险)+ ous — dangerous ( adj. 有危险的)。

silent / sa l nt/ adj. 不说话的;沉默的
silent作形容词,在句中作表语或定语。remain/ stay/ keep silent“保持沉默”。

silence作名词,意为“沉默;寂静”,是不可数名词。in silence意为“安静地;无声地” 。

helpful /‘helpfl/ adj. 有用的;有帮助的
