Dear friends, do you like reading If so, maybe you know literature—a word which is used to describe written as well as spoken material. Usually, it is used to describe anything from creative imagination, including works of poetry, drama and fiction.
Literature is often imaginary(虚构的) and seems unconnected(不联系) with real life. Then why do we need to read literature
It’s always pleasant to read for enjoyment and relaxation in our spare time. In a modern life full of stress(精神压力), it is our common wish to read some imaginary works and look for relaxation from the stress in life.
Reading literature also allows us to get knowledge. As a general rule, literature represents a language of people, and it often gives us an insight(洞悉) into the traditions, attitudes and values of the times in which it was written.
Sometimes literature can even offer us new, creative ways to have a better understanding of the world. It introduces us to new worlds of experiences. We enjoy the comedy and the tragedy of poems, stories and plays, and we may even grow through our literary journey with books.
At last we may discover(发现) meaning in literature by looking at what the writer says and how he or she says it. In some ways, we explore(探索) the human condition and analyze(分析) the way they think and feel the way they feel. Literature helps us think clearly and encourages us to open minds.

Reading Is Very Important
It’s very important for us students to do some reading. And there are so many good points when we do that. First of all, we can get lots of knowledge we don’t know, especially when we are reading some scientific books or historical ones. And reading can bring so much fun to our life. If we read some jokes or interesting stories, it’s easy for us to keep happy all day. Also, it’s a good way to relax. After a hard day’s work, just take a book to read, imagining what’s happening in the book, so our brains could relax.
Since reading can help us so much, I enjoy reading a lot. I like to read after school. And my favourite time is during the summer vacation. I can get lots of nice books to read without worrying about time! And I write down what I think after reading each book!
So, you know how much reading can bring us. What are you waiting for Let’s begin now!
