1. 询问及回答年龄。
how old意为“多大年纪；几岁”，询问年龄。其句型结构为“How old + be + 主语？”答语通常为“主语 + be + 基数词+ years / months old”，其中years/months old可以省略。如：
—How old is your cousin 你表姐多大了？ —She’s thirteen (years old). 她13岁了。
—How old are your grandparents 你爷爷奶奶多大岁数了？ —They’re eighty (old). 他们八十岁了。
2. At three this afternoon. 今天下午三点。
介词at意为 “在……”，在本句中表示时间，其后一般跟表示钟点的词。如：
at 6:00 在6点 at 7:15 在7点15分
[辨一辨] 表示时间的介词at, in与on
(1) at常用于时刻前或一些固定的习惯用语中。如：
at 9:00 在9点钟 at noon 在中午
(2) in用在月份、季节、年份等前面，也可以表示“在早上、在下午、在晚上”。如：

一、询问及回答生日
用句型 When is/are sb’s birthday(s) 来询问他人的生日。回答时用sb’s birthday(s) is/are (on/in) …或用句型：It’s (on/in) …例如：
—When is your birthday 你的生日是什么时候？
—My birthday is /It’s August tenth.
我的生日是八月十日。
—When is Jane’s birthday 简的生日是什么时候
—Her birthday is /It’s on January twelfth.
她的生日是一月十二日。
—When are their birthdays 他们的生日是什么时候？

【记忆口诀】
基变序，有规律，多数词尾加-th。
一、二、三特殊记，词尾字母t, d, d。
八去t，九去e, 字母f把ve替，然后再加-th。
遇到几十几，只变个位就可以。
序数词表顺序，一般须加定冠词。
序数词的用法：
1. 序数词要加定冠词the。但当序数词前有物主代词（his, her…）、指示代词（this, that…）等修饰时，则不必再用the。如：
on the third floor 在三楼
on his twelfth birthday 在他十二岁生日这天
2. 序数词常用缩写形式，即“阿拉伯数字+个位序数词的后两个字母”。如：one → 1st; second→2nd; third→3rd; twelfth→12th; twenty-sixth → 26th
3. 序数词可表示日期“几月几日”中的“几日”。如:August 17th 8月17日 October 1st 10月1日
