动名词作宾语
在及物动词及介词后面的动词-ing, 就是动名词作宾语。
①某些动词或短语动词只能用动名词作宾语，常见的有：admit, appreciate, excuse, stand, advise, allow, permit, avoid, consider, enjoy, finish, give up, cannot help, imagine, include, keep, mind, miss, practice, suggest, can't help, depend on, think about, set about, succeed in, worry about, feel like, be used to(习惯于……), get used to(习惯于……), devote…to, look forward to, pay attention to, get down to, escape from, keep on, put off, think of等。
如：
The children couldn’t help opening the present in the socks.
孩子们迫不及待地打开袜子里的礼物。
动名词作宾语
喜欢(enjoy)不断(keep)提建议(suggest)，
想要(feel like)介意(mind)已完毕(finish)，
忍不住(can’t help)去练习(practice)，后接动词的-ing。

②作介词的宾语
动名词作介词的宾语，并且和介词构成介词短语。
如：
We want to stay at home instead of shopping.
我们想待在家里，而不是购物。
We must get down to doing our homework now.
我们现在必须马上做作业。
③作形容词的宾语
The music is well worth listening to. 这种曲子很值得听。
We are busy studying for the test. 我们正忙着为考试而学习呢。
