--Where is＋单数事物？ --It’s in/on/under…
--Where are＋复数事物？ --They’re in/on/under…
--Is the…in/on/under…？ --Yes, it is./No, it isn’t.
--Are the…in/on/under…？ --Yes, they are./No, they aren’t.
句型结构
where引导的特殊疑问句不可以用yes或no回答，常用一个完整的句子，即“主语 + be动词 + 介词短语 + 其他.”回答 。但要注意以下几点：
1. 为避免重复，回答时主语常用相应的人称代词代替。
--Where is the bag 包在哪里？
--It’s on the desk. 它在书桌上。
2. 非正式场合也可省略主语和be动词，直接用介词短语回答。
3. 如果不知道某人或某物在什么地方， 可以说“Sorry, I don’t know.”。
--Where are my books 我的书在哪里？
--In the classroom. 在教室里。
--Where are they 他们在哪里？
--Sorry, I don’t know. 对不起，我不知道。

Language points
1. 方位介词on/in/under
英语中，方位介词不能单独使用，一般用于名词或代词前。
on 在……上 一个物体在另一个物体的表面上，。
in 在……里 一个物体在另一个物体或某一空间的内部。
under 在……下 一个物体在另一个物体的正下方，且两个物体之间没有接触。
2. I don’t know.
(1) I don’t know. 常用来表示对他人的询问或提出的问题不清楚或不知道。使用时，通常在前面加上sorry或I’m sorry，以示礼貌与客气。
--Where is our English teacher 我们的英语老师在哪儿？
--Sorry, I don’t know. 对不起，我不知道。
=I have no idea. 我不知道。
(2) don’t 是助动词do与not的缩略形式。在一般现在时中，若谓语动词是实义动词，在变成否定句时，需借助助动词do或does。具体用法如下：
I know her name. (改为否定句)
①当主语是第一、二人称或第三人称复数时，在句中实义动词前加don’t。
I don’t know her name.
Tom has a blue pen. (改为否定句)
②当主语是第三人称单数时，在句中实义动词前加doesn’t，并把动词的第三人称单数形式变为动词原形。
Tom doesn’t have a blue pen.
(3) know v. 知道；了解。同音词为no。
Do you know him 你了解他吗？
