Period 5 Reading for Writing英语说课稿
Hello everyone, It’s my great pleasure to be here sharing my lesson with you. The content of my lesson is Senior English required elective course Book2 Unit 4Canada-- “Journey Across a Vast Land” Seeing the True North Via Trail From Toronto to Montreal. I’ll be ready to begin this lesson from six parts. Analysis of the teaching material and learners, the teaching objectives, the important and difficult points ; the teaching methods, the teaching procedure, and Blackboard design. First, let me talk about the teaching material and leaners.
Part 1Teaching Material and learners:
This unit is about the introduction of Canada. By studying of this unit, we’ll enable the students to learn the geography, population, main cities, and natural beauty, natural resources of Canada. Its theme belong to people and society. Through the training of the unit, it also requires students to learn some Language skills such as the expressions of position and emotions. So it plays an important part in the English teaching in this book. Most of my students can not express themselves appropriately because their vocabulary is quite limited. So I will encourage them to use simple English to talk and write their travel journal.
Part 2 Teaching objectives:
According to the analysis of the teaching material and the learners, I set the following learning objectives. Firstly, as for language ability, students can learn some new words and phrases, understanding the content of the lesson and write a simple travel journal. Secondly learning ability, make students predict the information of the travel journal and imitate to write their own travel journal by working in pairs.
Thirdly, as for thinking quality, students can think the content and the organization of the travel journal logically. Fourthly, as for culture awareness, enable students to understand the characters of Canada and encourage Ss’ to enjoy the life and be full of enthusiasm to pursue the life they want.
Part 3 The Important and Difficult Points
Based on the requirement of the syllabus,the important point is getting the students get the main factors of travel journal and make their own one.
The difficult point is how to write their own travel journal according to the text.
Part 4 Teaching Methods:
I will use the following teaching methods : multi-media teaching methods, discussion and group-work.
Part 5 Teaching Procedure
Step 1 Lead-in
I think the most useful method to lead the students to learn is interest stimulating and discussion by themselves. So at beginning I will show them a video of Canada leading them in the topic of Canada.
Step 2 Reading for information
Make Ss get the information and understand the text by questions and blank-filling tasks,
Step 3 Post-reading
In order to make Ss understand the passage better and make preparation for the writing. I encourage Ss to summarize the whole passage.
Step 4 Writing
At first make an outline of a travel journal, then show some useful expressions and a simple composition. At last, work in group discuss and write a travel journal according to material.
Step 5 Homework
Correct and polish the writing to make it better.
Part 6 Blackboard Design
The purpose of blackboard design is to provide teacher and students with information and internal demand to improve teaching skill and learning quality. It should attract the student’ s attention and let them to write down the important teaching points. I write down the 5 factors and the outline of the travel journal to help them think about the structure of our topic. That’s all. Thank you.
