Analyze the teaching material and learners:
This lesson is chosen from the section B of unit 9, Book 7A, PEP Junior English. In this unit, students learn to talk about preferences and give reasons. In this period, students will continue to learn subjects by reading a letter.
The topic is close to students’ study. And they’ve learned something about subjects, they can also give reasons in English. So it’s easy for students to communicate with others in their school life. It’s also practical for them to improve their speaking, reading and writing abilities. All the students can learn some spoken and written English more or less.

Step 1 Greetings
T: Good morning, class. How are you today Welcome back to our English class. Today we will learn the reading part of unit 9. Now please tell me the title together.
This part is designed to remind them what we’ll learn today.
Step 2 Revision (2a)
Watch, write and say. Look at a video. After watching it, write down what subjects you see. And talk about what you think of these subjects.
This part is designed to check if students have memorized the subjects they’ve learned before and make them open mouths and speak English.
Step 3 Pre-reading
Listen to the letter carefully and answer the questions.
This activity aims to help students know something about the letter as a whole.
Step 4 While-reading
1. Read the letter carefully and answer the following questions.
The activity aims to train students reading and comprehensive skills.
2. Read the letter one more time and complete the chart.
This activity aims to make students learn more details of the letter and improve their reading and comprehensive skills.
Step 5 After reading
Complete the close test without reading.
The part aims to help students to check their learning efficiency by themselves.
Step 6 Games:
1.Passing sentences.
Pass the sentences which the teacher told you one by one. Finally, the last student must write the sentence you’ve gotten on the blackboard.
2.Go and stop!
Talk about your favorite subject with your classmates.
These two activities are designed to help students consolidate the target language. And help them build their confidence in learning.
