Step 1 Lead-in
Show a video to attract students’ attention and arouse students’ interests.
Play a guessing game. Let students guess four vivid pictures of rides to let Ss learn about other recreation facilities in the amusement parks and make them have a clear understanding about them.
Ask students following questions and use the pictures to lead in the new lesson.

Step 2 learn a fast reading skill”scanning”
To help students feel what is scanning and why students need to learn the reading skill (show them a video).The definition of scanning will be shown to students
Step 3 Help students understand how to scan
Purpose: Show three techniques and examples, students can know how to scan.
① Decide exactly what information you are looking for.
It means when students read a passage, they should find key words and keep them in mind. In order to help students understand how to use this technique, an example will be given to them. And ask students to find key words from the question and the passage.
② Predict how the answer will appear.
It means students should try to find out clues from the question. An example will be given to students and tell them how to predict, like if the question contains where... , they just need to find the place to save time.
③Move your eyes as quickly as possible down the page.
Scanning is a fast reading skill, moving eyes as fast as they can and use figure or make notes can help student read more effectively.
Step 4 Practicing (Fast reading)
Ask students questions about the 3a to practice the fast reading skill.

此句是强调句(相当于I was scared at first, but shouting really helped).英语中,助动词do用在肯定句中表示对谓语动词进行强调,构成强调句。

2. I suggest Water City Restaurant in Water World.
suggest作“建议”讲时,应注意以句型:
1) suggest sth (to sb.). (向某人) 建议/提议某
eg. He suggested a new plan (to me). 他(给我)提了一个新计划。
2) suggest( sb.) doing sth. 建议(某人)做某事
eg. She suggested me asking my mother first. 她建议我先问问我妈妈。
3) suggest后接宾语从句,
eg.. I suggested that we should go home. 我建议我们回家。
另外,suggestion是suggest的名词形式,作“建议”讲时,是可数名词。

politely 副词“礼貌地,客气地”,反义词:impolitely
polite 形容词“有礼貌的,客气的”,反义词:impolite
2. Both are correct, but the first one sounds less polite.
“less+形容词或副词原级”构成降级比较形式, 意为“不那么; 稍许不……”之意。如:
他的第二部电影就没那么有趣。(翻译)

speaker名词,“讲(某种语言)的人;发言者”。
=speak(动词)+-er(后缀)
许多动词后加-er/-or构成名词,表示动作的执行者。如:

spend time/money doing sth.意为“花费时间/金钱做某事”,为固定结构。如:
spend还可与介词on构成“spend money on sth.”结构,意为“在某事/某物上花费金钱”。如:
拓展:表“花费”的词还有cost, take和pay,但它们的结构句式不同。
cost主语为物,常用于“sth. cost sb. money”结构;
take常用it作形式主语,用于“It takes sb. some time to do sth.”结构;
pay主语为人,常用于“sb. pay(s) some money for sth.”结构。
