Chinese people are angry. Since March, some Western companies, including H&M and Nike, have come under the spotlight (受到关注). They said they will stop using cotton from Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region.
They said they are following industry requirements set by the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI,良好棉花发展协会). It is a Switzerland-based cotton organization with 2,100 members worldwide, including famous brands like Nike, Adidas and Burberry. Recently, the BCI said forced labor (强迫劳动) might be used in Xinjiang.
3.This is a complete lie, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.1..The so-called “Xinjiang Uygur question” is nothing but way for the US to weaken China from the inside, said Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying on March 26.
Many BCI council members are from the US and Europe. Member fees (会员费) are the main financial (财务的) source for BCI, so brand members from these countries have great influence.
In fact, China is protecting human rights in the region, China Daily noted. The government has been organizing job offerings for cotton field owners in Xinjiang, as well as improving local people’s lives. The region’s cotton and textile (纺织) industry has created jobs for more than 600,000 local people. In 2020, the per capita disposable income (人均可支配收入) for residents living in cities and towns of Xinjiang was 34,838 yuan, 2.41 times that of 2010.
China is the world’s second-largest cotton producer and Xinjiang accounts for nearly 90 percent of the country’s cotton output (产量). 2.However, the increases in China’s cotton production and the growing textile industry are making some in the US and the West nervous, Xinhua said. Although the BCI sets the rules for the global cotton industry, its move was driven by pressure from these countries.

Succulents (多肉植物) can usually stay wet in hot and dry climates. They are easy to plant as well.
Get the pots ready. Make sure that you are not using either too large or too small a pot. There should be three or more holes at the bottom of the pot. Clay (陶土) pots are the best for planting succulents. Fill one third of the pot with gravel (沙砾).
Fill the pots with potting mix. Hold the plant carefully at the center of the pot and place the potting mix loosely (松散地) around the roots until it covers them up.
Provide good sunlight. Succulents prefer bright light. Therefore, place the pots in an area where there is plenty of sunlight. The best sun exposure (日照) time will be from dawn to noon during the summer.
Water your plant. The first watering will be done on the third day of planting. Watering afterward will depend on the growth rate of the plant. A good rule is that the soil mix should be allowed to dry up before the next watering. It is suggested to water twice a week during the summer, every two weeks during early and late winter and once a month during the peak of cold weather.
Fertilize (施肥) it. Do it during the summer growing season, as you would with other houseplants. Stopfertilizing entirely during the winter. The nitrogen content (含氮量) of the fertilizer should always be very low.
1.What kind of pot is the best for succulents
2.Do Succulents need a lot of sunshine or a lot of water
3.In summer, when is he best time to provide a succulent with sunshine
4. How often should you water a succulent during early winter
