一、教学目标
1. 掌握重点词汇和词组:lunar, calendar, animal sign, represent, appear, fixed, cycle, powerful, lively, practical, loyal, in all, star sign, divide, divide…into…, shape
2. 掌握重点句型:
They appear in a fixed order and the cycle repeats every 12 years.
It is you who shape your life and your future.
It is said that people born in the Year of the Tiger are brave.
What it says about me may be true, but for my cousin Julie, that’s not the case.
3. 能够通过听,获取关于生肖、星座和对应性格的信息。
4. 能够和同伴表达自己对于生肖和性格的观点。
二. 教学重点及难点
重点:
1. 引导学生正确朗读并理解重点词汇和重点句型的用法。
2. 引导学生学会能够正确朗读12生肖和它们对应性格的英文单词。
3. 引导学生与同伴谈论与生肖和性格相关话题的内容。
难点:
1. 引导学生能够通过听、记录下关于生肖、星座和对应性格的信息。
2. 引导学生和同伴表达生肖和性格的观点。
三、教学过程
Task 1
Step 1 Warming-up
Guide Ss to have a free talk.
(1) What year were you born in
(2) What is your animal sign
(3) What kind of person are you
【设计意图】通过自由讨论,引入本课话题。
Step 2 Pre-listening
1. Guide Ss to learn some new expressions: the Year of Ox, hard-working, lunar calendar.
【设计意图】通过图片,引导学生学习一些词汇表达,为接下来的听力扫除词汇障碍。
2. Guide Ss to learn the vocabulary about Chinese animal signs and think about how to describe each animal sign.
【设计意图】通过图片,引导学生学习十二生肖的英文名称,为接下来的听力扫除词汇障碍。引导学生思考如何描述十二生肖,激活之前学过的词汇,同时引入新的词汇。
3. Guide Ss to read and complete the passage.
In the Chinese lunar calendar, there are ____ animal signs. Each of them represents a lunar year. They appear in a ______ _______ and the cycle repeats every _____ years. They are Rat, Ox, ______, Rabbit, ________, Snake, ________, Sheep,__________, Rooster, Dog and ______.

Step 4 Post-Listening
1. Guide Ss to summarize the differences between animal signs and star signs according to
their notes.
【设计意图】通过填写表格,梳理听力材料里的重要信息。
2. Guide Ss to look at the pictures and answer two questions.
