神农本名炎帝,是中国上古时期姜姓部落的首领尊称。主要成就有发明医药,制耒耜种五谷,制作陶器,开辟集市,联合黄帝打败蚩尤。炎帝与黄帝是华夏始祖。
陆羽(733—804),字鸿渐,复州竟陵(今湖北天门)人,一名疾,字季疵,号竟陵子、桑苎翁、东冈子,又号“茶山御史”。是唐代著名的茶学家,被誉为“茶仙”,尊为“茶圣”,祀为“茶神”。

在我国古代,民间就有关于神农的传说。东汉时期的《神农本草经》记载:“神农尝百草,日遇七十二毒,得茶而解之。” 据古书记载,神农是四五千年前的上古时期氏族部落的首领,他带领部落的族人们从事各种农业生产。

One day Shen Nong was boiling drinking water over an open fire. Some leaves from a tea plant fell into the water and remained there for some time. It produced a nice smell so he tasted the brown water. It was quite delicious, and so, one of the world’s favorite drinks was invented.

3 It is believed that tea was brought to Korea and Japan during the 6th and 7th centuries. In England, tea didn’t appear until around 1660, but in less than 100 years, it had become the national drink. The tea trade from China to Western countries took place in the 19th century.
