B3. Listen and circle the correct dates.
1. Show the pupils there are three dates next to the picture of each child. Play the Pupil’s Book Cassette. Tell the pupils to listen and circle the correct dates.
2. Check the answers with the pupils.
C. A story: Great-grandpa’s birthday.
1. Point to the characters in the pictures and read their speech bubbles aloud. Ask the pupils to point to the speech bubbles as I read them. Ask the pupils a prediction question at the end of picture 3, What day is today (It’s Great-grandpa’s birthday.)
2. Play the tape for the pupils and ask them to listen. Play the cassette again and ask them to say the sentences after the cassette.
3. Ask the pupils to role-play the story in groups of four and to read the characters’ speech bubbles. Some groups may like to come out to the front and act the story.
D. Read the story again. Write the answers.
Ask the pupils to read the story again. Show them where to write their answers. Check the answers with the pupils.
