教学目标
1 .带领学生通过略读锁定关键词,获取课文主要信息,体会“天路”对作者的特殊意义,并把握作者的写作意图; 2. 带领学生通过精读,找出主要细节在文中的位置,即青藏铁路建设过程中克服的种种困难,感受建设者的伟大,培养保护生态和环境的意识,激发民族自豪感; 3. 引导学生通过阅读文本,感知文章的语言特点,在语篇中学习和掌握与话题相关词汇和短语并能运用所学词汇介绍青藏铁路。
教学内容
教学重点: 1.引导学生读懂语篇,理解作者的写作意图,并了解文章的主旨大意; 2.引导学生了解游记类文章的文体特征。
教学难点: 1 1.引导学生把握略读和精读的阅读技巧; 2.引导学生运用在语篇中学习和掌握的词汇和短语,介绍青藏铁路。
教学过程
Step I. Lead in. 1.Teacher shows some pictures of means of transportation and asks students how they would like to go to Tibet. 2. Teacher play a video on the Qinghai-Tibet railway and ask what they learned from the video. 3.Teacher asks students to work in pairs to answer the quiz. Which is the highest railway in the world A. South China Karst Step II.Learning aims In this Class, you will be able to find out why the Sky Railway is special to the author find out the challenges faced by the builders during the construction of the railway and the solutions tell the author’s purpose in writing the passage. introduce the Qinghai-Tibet railway in English Step III. Main idea 1.The teacher asks students to read the passage quickly to find out what the writing type of the passage is. Travel log/journal 2.Teacher asks students to find out why the Sky Railway is special to the author. *The author has worked on the Qinghai-Tibet Railway. *Once believed “impossible”, the highest railway in the world is a record of the efforts of the workers to overcome the most difficult engineering challenges. These efforts and their final results mean that the railway is special to the author. Step IV. Read for information. 1.Teacher asks students to read the passage again and fill out the table. 2.Teacher asks students to check their answers in groups and invites the representatives to share their answers with the class. I am proud that 4.Choose the author's purpose in writing the passage and give your reasons. A.To prove that humans can conquer nature. The sentence in Paragraph 2 “Taking years to complete, the Qinghai-Tibet Railway is a record of all of our efforts to overcome the most difficult engineering challenges.” shows that the workers made a great effort to build the Qinghai-Tibet Railway. From Paragraph 2 to Paragraph 6 the author tells us the challenges they met when constructing the railway and the measures they took to solve the problems. From these we can tell the workers make a great effort to build the Qinghai-Tibet Railway. In Paragraph 6 the author says “I feel a sense of pride and achievement” and in Paragraph 7 “I am proud that we built our ‘impossible’ railway in the world with the care the environment deserves.” All of these indicate that the author’s purpose is to praise the workers’ efforts in building the Qinghai-Tibet Railway. Step VI. Interview Teacher divides students into 4 groups to make an interview. Group 1 Role A A reporter from CCTV News Channel. Bole B: railway workers& engineers: introduce the challenges and solutions Group 2 Role A A reporter from CCTV News Channel. Role B: a foreign expert: highly praise the “impossible” railway Group3 Role A A reporter from CCTV News Channel. Role B: people living along the railway: talk about the change of their life and their feelings Group 4 Role A A reporter from CCTV News Channel. Role B: tourists: admire the beautiful landscapes and talk about the convenience the railway brings Step VII. View and reflection Teacher ask students to enjoy the song “ Sky railway” and take some notes. Homework
