When we ask a Wh-question, we let our voice fall at the end of the question. When we answer the question, we usually let our voice fall at the end of the sentence too.

“I was very nervous at first,” says Sarah. “However, my host family are really friendly. I’m glad to be a guest in their home. I’ve learnt to use chopsticks, and they’re teaching me a little Chinese!”
The students spend the weekdays studying with Chinese students. At the weekend, they tour around Beijing and visit places of interest with their host families.

A group of British students including Sarah and Eric have an educational exchange to Xinhua Junior High School in Beijing. They study with Chinese students on weekdays. At the weekend, they tour around Beijing and visit places of interest with their host families. They have learnt something including a bit of t'ai chi, a little Chinese, using chopsticks, and a lot about Chinese culture and history. They have also tried to paint some pictures themselves. Sarah plans to keep in touch with her new friends when she returns home.
