Teaching procedures:
Step1：Pre-reading
Students watch a video about Spud Webb.
Teacher show students some pictures of Spud Webb and lead them to find out some words to describe the height of webb.
Task 1 Find out some words to describe the height of webb.

A short Chinese man seems to be the tallest in the world right now. Jack Ma, 50, is executive / g zekj t v / chairman(董事局主席) of Alibaba Group. On Sept 19, Alibaba went public(上市). Ma, a former English teacher, has become the richest man on the Chinese mainland.
Born in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, Ma grew up as a happy kid. At the age of 12, he wanted to learn English. Every morning, he woke up at 5a.m., went to a hotel near the West lake to chat to the foreign tourists. He did it for nine years, rain of shine.

In a 1995 trip to the USA, Ma was showed the Internet for the first time. He searched Yahoo using the word “Beer”, and found that there was nothing in there about China. Seeing the chance, Ma returned to China and set up a website called China Pages without even knowing much about computers.
Four years later, 18 people including Ma, his wife and his friends founded Alibaba in Hangzhou. Few people believe that he could do it well. People called him “Crazy Jack Ma”. But 15years later, Alibaba has developed into the world’s largest e-commerce / k m :s / (电子商务) company, owning popular shopping websites like Taobao and tmall.

Chinese player Li Na, a two-time Grand Slam/ gr nd/ / sl m/ (网球大满贯赛事) champion, announced her retirement / r ta m nt / on Sept 21. Although it was a hard decision, Li said, “ I don’t feel sorry about retiring. Because I’ve done my best,” said the 32-year-old.
Turning professional/ [pr fe nl / (职业的)at the age of 17, Li has set many milestones (里程碑)for Chinese tennis. She was the first Chinese to win a major/ 'me d / Grand Slam singles title, including the 2011 French Open and the 2014 Australian Open.
