教学目标与核心素养:
知识目标:学生通过泛读的形式快速理解文章的内容并且能够理解和解释文章标题的含义。
能力目标:学生可以通过合作或者独立的形式完成各项练习
情感目标:学生可以加深对于节日的理解,也要形成多元文化的意识,
教学重难点
教学重点:学生理清文章大意和结构,理解文章的重点单词和句子。
教学难点:引导学生掌握重点句型
课前准备:多媒体,黑板,粉笔
教学过程:
一、Pre-reading
1. Greeting
2. Leading-in
教师活动:
1. Show the pictures of writer Tolkien; then ask the students “Do you know this man ”
2. Show the posters of the film The Lord of the Rings; then ask the students “What do you know about them ”
3. The teacher asks the students to read the instruction of Tolkien on Page 14 and answer the questions in Activity 1.
(1) Have you ever read any of Tolkien's books or seen any of the films based on them What do you think of them (OPEN)
(2) What else do you know about Tolkien Find out more about him and share your research with the class. (OPEN)
4. The teacher asks the students to share more information they know about Tolkien. “Would you please share your own information about Tolkien ”
While- reading
教师活动:The teacher asks the students to read the passage quickly and find out:
(1) What is Letters from Father Christmas about
Suggested answer: Letters from Father Christmas is a collection of Tolkien's letters to his four children at Christmas. The letters told wonderful stories about Father Christmas's life and adventures at the North Pole.
(2)Why did Tolkien write these letters
Suggested answer: Tolkien wrote these letters because he wanted to keep Father Christmas alive for his four children.
