Written forms of American and British English has some difference. For example, different words are used in American English and British English, such as pants, trousers; different spelling: center--centre; program--programme; labor—labour.
There is also difference in pronunciation. “Worker” in American is pronounced as /'w :rk /, in British English it is pronounced as /'w :k / in British English, there is /a:/, but in American English it is read as / /, such as “pass” /pa:s/, /p s/.
Pay attention to the proper situation that the expressions are used.
Take notes of the English expressions that you are not familiar when your classmates are performing.
Perform the conversation you have made in the last class with your partners.
Think of a situation where an English expression you have talked in the last step can be used.
The expression should have something that can confuse a foreigner.
You should use the Past Tense.
Discuss and make up a story about the misusing of English expressions.

I think watching English TV series is the most creative idea of learning English.
At first, we can practice listening when watching English TV series. The TV plays always happen in a situation so we can easily get what they may mean. Then, we can know some cultural backgrounds in the plays. The plays presents English natives’ daily life which is different from what we learn in class.
So I think we should watch English TV series to help us have a better understanding of English.

英语是当代国际交往中使用最广泛的语言,同时又在不断发展变化。那么美国英语与英国英语有什么区别呢?
British English and American English are almost exactly the same. But there are minor (较小的) differences between British English and American English in vocabulary, pronunciation and spelling.
The first difference between British and American English is in vocabulary. Almost all the words used in British English and American English are exactly the same. Only a very small number of words are used differently. For example, Americans would say “an apartment”, but the British would say “a flat” to talk about the place they live. In addition to (除了) some common words, many idiomatic (惯用的) expressions are different. An example of idiomatic expression is the expression for telephoning someone. In England people might say, “I’ll ring you up tonight,” but in the U.S., people might say, “I’ll call you up tonight.”
The second difference between British and American English is pronunciation. The main difference in pronunciation concerns the vowels (元音). Some American dialects and some British dialects use these vowels in different ways. Sometimes, Americans and the British don’t understand each other’s pronunciation. But most of the time the British and Americans do understand each other’s pronunciation, because most of the sounds of the two accents are the same.
The third difference is in spelling. A few kinds of words are spelled differently in British and American English. The most common example is a word like “center”. In British English this word would be spelled C-E-N-T-R-E, while in American English the same word would be spelled C-E-N-T-E-R. Another example is “or” or “our”. The word colour is spelled C-O-L-O-U-R in Britain, but C-O-L-O-R in the U.S.
