作宾语的是一个简单句,则这个简单句就是宾语从句,而整个句子就叫含有这个宾语从句的复合句。

he was a teacher.

谓语
宾 语
上述句子中,做宾语的 “he was a teacher”是一个简单句,这个简单句
“he was a teacher”,就叫从句,这个从句做整个句子的宾语,所以叫
宾语从句,而整个句子则叫做含有这个宾语从句的复合句。

引导词
定语从句中的that是关系代词, 起连接主句和从句的作用,在从句中不做句子成分,宾语从句中that常可以省去。
其他的引导词还有if / whether (是否)、what 、where等疑问代词和疑问副词,不能省去。

主句现在从任意,主句过去从过去。
(主句是一般现在时时,从句根据需要选择所需要的任何时态,
主句是一般过去时时,从句要变成对应的过去时态。 )

观察下面两个选择题,看看里面的两个if 分别是什么意思,
分别连接什么从句。
我不知道每天他是不是将要回来。If是不是,是否的意思,连接宾语从句。时态对应关系:主句现在从任意,主句过去从过去。根据需要选择一般将来时。故选B
如果明天他回来了,请给我打电话。If如果的意思,连接条件状语从句。本句的时态对应关系主将从现。故选A

难点突破
否定的转移
当(1)主语是第一人称(I,we),(2)主句谓语动词是一般现在时,(3)谓语动词是think,believe,suppose,imagine,expect时
宾语从句中的否定词not,要转移到主句谓语动词前面。
这种结构的反意疑问句,疑问问部分要与从句保持一致。
