Why or why not
CGI stands for computer-generated imagery, which is the use of computer graphics to create images and special effects. Movies use a mix of real actors and CGI can bring some human-designed images like dinosaurs to life alongside the actors, which can make the scenes in the film seem real.
However, if the technology is used with the aim of simply reducing the workload of certain actors and at the same time declining the quality of a film, it is unnecessary to use the technology.
