JOHN SNOW DEFEATS “KING CHOLERA”
How did he made it
Theories: It was believed that cholera was caused by bad air or germ in food or water.
John Snow subscribed to the later one, but he still needed proof. Snow marked on the map the places where the people who died had lived.
He suspected that the water from the pump was to blame. Many deaths occurred near the water pump in Broad Street. Some people hadn't drunk the water from the pump, and lived. A woman and her daughter died in another part of London after drinking water from the pump.
The pump water carried cholera germs.
The handle of the pump was removed.
