教材分析:本部分首先通过表格的形式总结了本单元的目标语言,即:Where引导的特殊疑问句以及含有on, in, under 的答句。通过3a-3c的学习,学生在新的语境中进一步练习物品位置关系的提问和表述,进一步学习和运用介词on, in, under。3a-3c的活动安排是分层次的。3a让学生看图补全对话,主要关注语言形式(focus on form),是语言结构练习;3b让学生两人一组看图问答,是控制性的语言输出练习,要求学生输出更为完整的对话;3c是开放性的交际活动(communicative activity),且具有信息差(information gap),是比较真实的语言运用活动,因而更加关注语义(focus on meaning)。
学情分析:本单元的主要内容是谈论物品所在的位置。通过这一话题,训练学生的听、说、读、写四项基本技能。七年级学生已经有了一定的英语语言基础,所以本节课内容并不陌生,让学生通过询问物品的位置,学习一些有关家居物品和学习用品的单词,以及方位介词in, on, under, behind 等的用法;学习并掌握Where问句的问答,一般疑问句提问并用方位介词来回答;学习名词单复数及人称代词、物主代词的用法,同时培养学生养成干净、整洁、合理摆放物品的好习惯。
教学目标:(Teaching objects)
1.Knowledge objects:Learn to talk about where thing are in English. Grasp the structures: Where questions. and Prepositions: on, in, under.
Target language:
Where is his pencil It is in his schoolbag.
Where’s your ruler It’s under the chair.
Where are my books They’re on the sofa.
I don’t know.
2.Ability objects: Train Ss’ listening ,speaking, reading and writing skills, especially let them be able to describe the position of the objects by making conversations..
3.Moral objects: Lead Ss to put away their own things and develop a good habit.
教学重点难点:
Key points: Sum up the key sentence patterns and Learn how to use the target language to ask about the positions freely.
Difficult points: Grasp the usage of the prepositions “in ,on ,under ”and use the key sentence patterns to ask about the positions in different situations correctly.
教学方法:The Communicative Approach, the Situational teaching method, the activity teaching method, the cooperative learning method ,task-based language teaching.

教学过程:(Teaching procedure)
Step 1 leading in .
Before class , play an English song You are my sunshine to arouse Ss’ interest and create English atmosphere.
Then lead in today’s topic directly . T: This class we’ll continue to talk about where things are . Unit 4 ( Grammar-Focus -3c).Can you tell me the title –Where’s my schoolbag OK, please answer my question: Where’s your schoolbag ( Ss answer :It’s on the chair./in the desk.)

Step 2 Revision .
1. Let’s chant.
Drawer, drawer, in the drawer;
Table, table, under the table;
Sofa, sofa, on the sofa;
Dresser, dresser, on the dresser;
Bookcase, bookcase, in the bookcase;
Desk, desk, under the desk;
Schoolbag, schoolbag, in the schoolbag.
2. Who has a good memory
(Next let me check your memory. I’ll show some pictures .If you know the answer, please stand up quickly and say it out , OK Let’s have a try. )
Revise the words: chair , desk ,sofa ,table , bookcase ,bed.
3. Free talk.
Use the real objects in the classroom to make the conversations like this:
Excuse me , where’s your book/pen/ruler… Where are your books/desks/chairs…

Step 3 Presentation.
T: Next , let’s play a guessing game.
Look at the picture, what’s this It’s a TV. Now I ask you : Where’s the TV Do you know No. Now we’ll say “I don’t know.” It means“我不知道”. “don’t “ is short for “do not”. If you want to be polite, you can say,” Sorry, I don’t know. “ or “I’m sorry , I don’t know.”
Now I guess ”它是在墙上吗 ” How to say it Is it on the wall No, it isn’t. It’s on the desk.
Then read the dialogue together.
A: Where is the TV
B: I don’t know.
A: Is it on the wall
B: No, it isn’t. It’s on the desk.
Then show the second picture.(The same goes for Picture 2)
A: Where is the cat
B: I don’t know.
A: Is it in the box
B: No, it isn’t. It’s under the table.
(设计意图:设置猜测游戏,教学答语:I don’t know. 由于学生们不知道物品在哪里,所以会启发他们这样说。 而且know 在本节课是个生词。)
Step 4 Practice. (Ask and answer in pairs.)

A : No ,they aren’t. They’re under the chair.
⑶A: Where are the keys
B: Are they on the desk
A: No , they aren’t. They’re in the desk.
(设计意图:这部分活动是对上部分猜测游戏的延伸,强化学生在不同的情境中灵活地询问物品在哪里。引导学生增加一个答语I don’t know.)
Step 5 Grammar Focus.
1. Translate the sentences and fill in the blanks. (Explain: where’s=where is , where’re ≠where are ) (设计意图:呈现的10个汉译英的句子都是Grammar Focus中原封不动的句子,既是对学生前面知识的检测,又为下面语法的讲解做铺垫。)
2. Show Grammar Focus. Read the key sentences. Boys ask , girls answer.
3. Answer the following questions , according to Grammar Focus.
⑴. ___________和____________用于询问物或人的位置、地点。它是特殊疑问句,不能用yes ,no 来回答。
⑵.注意:句中be动词的形式由句中主语的人称和数决定。如果主语是人,回答时用相应的人称代词主格作主语; 如果主语为单数物品, be动词就用____, 回答时用____代替。
⑶.如果主语为复数形式, 则be动词用_____,
回答时用_____来代替。
