Teaching aims:
1.掌握形容词以及比较级的正确用法。
2.掌握B部分出现的四会单词light lighter ,heavy heavier和C部分四会句型Who is taller ,you or SuYang Whose ruler is longer, yours or mine
3.掌握B部分中出现的三会单词long longer ,short shorter，strong stronger, big bigger ,small smaller ,fat fatter, thin thinner.
Key points:
1.能正确理解、掌握B部分单词。
2.能正确理解、掌握C部分句型。
Difficult points:
1.能理解、掌握形容词以及比较级的正确用法。
2.能熟练运用句型操练单词。
Teaching preparation:
1.准备录音机和磁带。

设计意图：自由对话，操练平日所学日常用语，起积累之用。
B. Revision
1. T: Welcome back to school, boys and girls.

设计意图：复习旧知，为新授作铺垫，起积累之用。
C. Presentation and practice
A / words
1. T: Daicheng is thirteen years old. But WangYuxuan is twelve years old. So Daicheng is young. WangYuxuan is younger than Daicheng.
Teach the words:
young, younger
2. Ask and answer:
T: I’m twenty-seven years old. I’m young. But you are all younger than me. Do you younger than me
S: Yes, I do. I’m younger than you / Miss Chen.

设计意图：联系学生的实际呈现新的词汇，一方面便于学生理解，另一方面激发了学生的表现欲。用单词滚动句型进行操练，使学生在潜移默化中学习了形容词比较级的用法。
B/ Grammar
1. Look at the blackboard and read the words together.
2. 形容词比较级：在英语中形容词有三个等级，即原级，比较级和最高级。本课所学习的是形容词的比较级，通常用来表示二者之间进行比较。形容词比较级在句型中通常和“than”连用，且置于其前“…比较级 than…”，中文意思表示“比……更……”。
3.形容词比较级的变化规则：
A .单音节词末尾加er, eg. taller
B.单音节词以e结尾加 r, eg. later
C. 闭音节词如果末尾只有一个辅音字母，须双写这个字母，再加 er, eg. bigger
D. 少数以y结尾的词，如果y前是辅音字母，则变y为i，再加 er, eg. heavier
E .不规则变化：good – better, some - more
设计意图：将形容词比较级的基本规则系统，有条理的教授给学生，能使起有清晰的印象，并能准确理解，而不至于产生歧义。
D. Consolidation
1. Listen to the tape and repeat.
2. Play the game: challenge
T: Think about your speciality carefully. Challenge your classmate.

设计意图：熟悉单词，模仿语音语调。通过游戏的形式操练所学单词和句型，激发学生的兴趣和参与欲望，烘托课堂教学气氛。

1. 投影片呈现Part C Work in pairs:
Make up the dialoges. Talk something about the pictures. Use the sentences like this:
