competition vs. match vs. race
1、范围不同
competition多指体育运动中的各项比赛、角逐，也指知识、技巧等方面的竞赛。match通常指体育运动项目的比赛。race通常指短跑比赛，如百米赛跑、接力赛等
2、词性不同
competition只能作为名词使用，但是race和match可以作为名词和动词使用。
3、双方形式不同
competition指在某项目或某次比赛中与对手所进行的“较量与竞争”，match隐含势均力敌意味。
