Unit 2 I became so bored with their orders that I wished they would leave me alone.

Language Points
1. Although they loved me, I felt a bit unhappy with them. 尽管他们爱我，但我对他们有点儿不满。
a bit 意为“有点儿；稍微”。该短语常用来修饰形容词、副词等，也可以修饰比较级。例如：
Jim is a bit taller than me. 吉姆比我高一点儿。
辨析a bit与a little
①a bit与a little在肯定句中修饰形容词或副词时两者是可以互换的，意为“一点儿”，例如：
I feel a bit / a little thirsty. 我感到有点儿口渴。
②a little 可直接作名词的定语，而 a bit 则要在后面加 of 后才能作定语。 a bit of 和 a little 只能修饰不可数名词。例如：
He may need a bit of /a little help. 他也许需要点儿帮助。
2. I became so bored with their orders that I wished they would leave me alone. 对于他们的指令，我非常厌烦，以至于我真希望他们别管我。
(1)be/feel/become bored with 的意思是“对……感到无聊/厌倦”。 bored 是形容词，意为“厌倦的”，用于形容人。例如：
With nothing to do, he is/becomes a little bored. 没有事情可做，他感觉有点儿无聊。
(2)leave sb. alone 意为“让某人独自待着”，相当于 leave sb. by oneself。例如：

【辨析】alone 与 lonely
①alone 作形容词，意为“独自的，单独的”，充当表语；还可作副词，意为“单独地，独自地”，表示客观上只有一个人，无感彩，充当状语。例如：
She was alone in that dark room. 她独自一人待在那黑屋子里。
②lonely 是形容词，意为“孤独的；寂寞的”，表示主观上感到孤独、寂寞，有较浓的感彩，在句中作表语或定语。例如：
He lives alone, but he doesn’t feel lonely. 他单独居住，但是他并不感到寂寞。
3. Although my parents were very worried about leaving me, they had to go away on business for a few days. 尽管父母对离开我非常担心，但他们不得不出差几天。
(1)be worried about(强调状态)意为“担心”。例如：
They worry about/are worried about the bad weather. 他们担心坏天气。
(2)on business 意为“出差”。例如：
David came to Beijing for the first time on business. 大卫第一次来北京出差。
4. The next morning I woke up late. 第二天早上，我很晚才醒来。
wake up 意为“醒；醒来”，不及物动词短语，其后不能接宾语。例如：
I usually wake up at 6:30 in the morning. 我通常在早上六点半醒来。
wake up 的常见搭配为wake sb. up，意为“唤醒某人”。例如：
My mum always wakes me up at 6:50 in the morning. 妈妈通常在早上六点五十分叫我起床。
5. I had to hurry to school without breakfast, but I was still late. 我没吃早饭就匆忙去上学，但还是迟到了。
hurry to do sth. 意为“赶紧/匆忙做某事”，同义短语为 rush to do sth.。例如：
