教学设计
一、教学理念
《英语课程标准》 指出：此次英语课程改革的重点是强调从学生的学习兴趣、生活经验和认知水平出发，倡导体验、实践、参与、合作与交流的学习方式和任务型的教学途径，发展学生的综合语言运用能力，使语言学习的过程成为学生形成积极的情感态度，主动思维和大胆实践，提高跨文化意识和形成自主学习能力的过程。面向全体学生，在教师的引导下，通过多媒体设计各种图片帮助学生加深对所学语言的理解，激发学生用英语进行交流的热情，通过游戏、活动等形式，充分调动学生的积极性，注重过程评价，促进学生发展，形成一定的综合语言应用能力。
二、设计思路
本课时交际的话题是围绕“When is your birthday ” 和询问年龄“How old are you ”展开的。导入部分由一个游戏开启，既复习了上单元基数词的念法，引导学生体会基数词表达数量的作用并导入本课生日话题，达到成功铺垫任务的效果。接下来设计一个对月份进行排序的任务，引导学生自然过渡到序数词的学习环节，与此同时，引导学生体会序数词在生活中的作用。在两项知识目标完成的基础上，进行能力和情感目标的实现。通过任务型教学法引导学生对日期的问与答进行学习和应用练习。生日是学生感兴趣的话题，以此创设情景，以兴趣刺激学生学习主动性和交际主动性，是本课时教法与学法上的一大特点。本节课采用“任务型教学”方法展开教学，充分发挥小组合作的作用，自由选择和教学内容有关的话题，充分体现了学生为主体,最大限度地调动了每位学生的学习积极性和创造性,以达到良好的教学效果。
三、教材分析
本课是人教版（新目标）七年级上册第八单元的讲练课。本课围绕When is your birthday 展开话题，讨论每位学生及其周围人的生日及日期的表达方式，内容涉及有12个月份的生词、序数词1st-31st 及简单的明信片写法。词汇量大、跨度大、难度也较大。如何使学生用这些难读、难记、又单调的词汇进行交流与交际，将是本课时的一大挑战。利用多媒体，采用任务型教学法，通过跟读、游戏、及小组调查活动等形式，充分调动学生的积极性，让学生自主掌握教学目标。
四、教学目标：
1、知识目标：学习十二月份的名称和序数词的构成及变化规则。
2、能力目标：学会日期的表达方式。
3、情感目标：学生学会问答并介绍自己及他人的生日。
五、教学重点难点：
重点： 学习序数词的构成和日期的表达法。
难点： when引导的特殊疑问句的构成和使用。
六、教学用具
多媒体，学习任务卡片等。
七、教学过程
Step I Warming up
In this procedure, use a counting game to let students review the usage of cardinal numbers, then ask about the number of the classmates. Let them pay attention to the numbers. Then express the idea of making a birthday album for everyone, thus focus on the study of months.
Step II Presentation
1. Let students learn about the months, from both the pronunciation aspect and the spelling aspect. Then set a small game to review the target words.
2. Let students learn about the ordinal numbers naturally from the arranging orders of the 12 months. Then set a practice of sentence repeating to review the target words.
Learning Task One: Discuss ordinal Numbers: (thirteenth—twentieth):
3. Let students discuss and conclude the rules of changing from cardinal numbers to ordinal numbers. Then the teacher gives a finally summary to let students remember easily.

4. Let students learn the reading and writing skills of date. Then set a practice according to the asking about some famous festivals.
Step III Listening and Pair work
Match the names with the months and the dates. Then ask and answer with the partners about their birthdays.
Step IV Group work
1. Make a survey about others’ birthdays and help the teacher make the class birthday album by using the task cards.
