Could you please tell me where ... 是问路的一种常用句型。此句型中could并不表示过去，而是表示委婉语气。Could you please+动原？请你干…好吗？

做宾语从句三步走 ：1. 引导词 2.语序 主谓正常语序 3.时态：
1.引导词:
1) 陈述句用作宾语从句时, 用that 引导, 也可以省略。
I have seen the film, I tell her.= I tell her (that) I have seen the film.
2) 一般疑问句用做宾语从句时，用 if 或 whether 引导。
Are you a student Please tell me.= Please tell me if /whether you are a student.
3) 特殊疑问句用作宾语从句时，用原句中的疑问词引导。
Who are you waiting for Can you tell me =Can you tell me who you are waiting for

3.时态：
1) 主句是一般现在时，宾语从句时态不变。
It is going to rain. I think. = I think it is going to rain.
2) 主句是一般过去时，宾语从句时态要与主句时态保持一致。
“I can go with you,” He told me.=He told me he could go with me.
注意：1. 以 wh- 疑问词或 how 引导的宾语从句与动词不定式可相互转换:
疑问代词 who, what, which 及疑问副词 when, where, why 等和动词不定式连用，构成动词不定式短语。
I didn’t know what to do. The policeman showed us where to go.

2. 主句和从句的主语为同一人，宾语从句可转换为动词不定式结构。如下所示：
I don’t know what I can say next. =I don’t know what to say next.
He doesn’t know where he can make a phone call.=
He doesn’t know where to make a phone call.
宾语从句 总结归纳
当主句谓语是一般现在时, 宾语从句可以根据需要来使用某种时态.
当主句谓语是一般过去时, 宾语从句用表示过去的某种时态.
当主句谓语是一般过去时, 宾语从句的内容表示客观真理时, 宾语从句中的谓语动
词不受主句谓语动词的影响, 应保留一般现在时态形式.

（1）could you please 类似的还有,can you please, will you please，would you please(用could、 would 语气委婉一些)，注意该表达变否定是在 please后加not。
Eg. Will you please not open the window
（2）how to get to the bookstore 中非谓语动词to get可以改成谓语动词，构成宾语从句。
即：Excuse me ,could you please tell me how I can get to the bookstore.

当然，只需要沿着主街往前走，直到到了中央大街。
此处词组go along 意为“沿着---往前走”。
类似词组： go(walk) on go(walk) up (表示往北) go(walk) down (表示往南)
Eg. Walk up the road to the end ,you’ll find the school.
3. The bookstore is on your right. 书店在右边。
on your right（left）(side) 在你右边（左边）
on the right(left) side of 在----到右边（左边）
eg. The bookstore is on the right side of the post office.
4. They close at 7:00 p.m. today.
close 在这句话中是作动词，意思是“关门；不开放”。
The store closes at 9 p.m. every day. 这家商店晚9点关门。
close 作动词还可意为“关；合拢；停业；结束
The door closed quietly. 门无声地关上了。
The hospital closed at the end of last year. 这所医院去年年底关闭。
At eleven the meeting closed. 会议于十一时结束。
He sits on the left side of the girl.
close 还可作形容词，意思是 “亲近的；近的”
