Step4 Listening and writing
1. Let the students understand the meaning of these frequency words and get familiar with the weekend activities.
2. Work on 1b. Listen and write the activities next to the corrct frequency words.
3. Have the students listen to the tape carefully twice and find out how often they do the activities on weckends. Then check the answers. Have the students read the tapescript after the tape and explain the meaning of these frequency words:

4. Explain to the students the differences of the six frequency words by a diagram.

1. Act out the conversation with the students.

频度副词
1.表示次数、频率的副词称为频度副词。常用的频度副词有always, ually, often, sometimes, hardly ever, never 等. always 意为“总是”,表示动作的重复或状态的延续。usually 意为“通常”,表示很少有例外。often 意为“经常”,表示动作的重复,但不如usually那么频繁,中间有间断。sometimes 意为“有时”,表示动作偶尔发生。hardly 意为“几乎不,几乎没有”常和ever连用表示强调。never 意为“丛不”。
2.它们在频度上的差异可以这样表示:
always 100%)usully>often>sometimes>hardly ever>never (0%)
3.频度副词的位置:通常放在情态动词、助动词或连系动词be之后,实义动词之前。
He is often late for school. (他上学经常迟到。)
He never speaks Japanese. (他从不说日语。)
4.对句中的频度副词提问,用how often.

3. Explanation
(1 )maybe与may be
maybe副词,意为“或许,大概,可能”: may be是“情态动词+be动词”,意为“可能是"。
可能你是对的。Maybe you are right. =You may be right.
(2)sometimes, some times, sometime 与some time
①sometimes频度副词,意为“有时候",与at times意思相同,可位于句首、句尾或句中。
Sometimes I get up at six.我有时六点起床。
②some times意为“几次:几倍”。
This factory is some times larger than that one.这个工厂比那个工厂大几倍.
③sometime副词,表示某个不确切或不具体的时间,意为“某个时候”。
We will have a meeting sometime next week.我们下周某个时间将举行一次会议。
④some time表示“一段时间”。
It took us some time to water the flowers.浇花花了我们一些时间。
