Shared bike(共享单车) have become popular across China’s big cities. There are about 16 million shared(在全国范围内的). They are mainly offered by Alibaba-backed OFO and Tencent-funded Mobike.
But poor regulation(缺乏管理) has caused much trouble on the country’s roads, with thousands of bikes dumped in already crowed public spaces. There are no fixed docking stations(停车点) in China. Once the rider has finished the journey, he can leave the bike anywhere. Bikes in big cities are often thrown on streets and roadsides. That has led to some problems in cities.
Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Wuhan have banned(禁止) new shared bikes. Beijing has become the latest city in China to ban new shared bikes. New deliveries of bikes to the city’s 15 sharing plans will be suspended(暂停) in Beijing.
Rider can already use nearly 2.4 million shared cycles in Beijing. And the number of shared bikes in Wuhan’s city area was reaching 700,000 far more than the city’s capacity(容量) of 400,000.
