1.illness ／＇ ln s／n.疾病
illness由＂ill（adj.生病的）＋-ness（名词后缀）＂构成。
His illness caused him to lose his memory.他的病使他失忆了。
The virus can cause illness in humans.该病毒可引起人类疾病。
词缀学习 在一些形容词词尾加后缀 -ness可将其变为名词，
但以y结尾的形容词要先变y为i，再加-ness。
例如：sad 难过的-sadness悲伤
happy 幸福的-happiness幸福
kind 友好的-kindness善良
sick 生病的-sickness疾病
用所给词的适当形式填空。

解析：由空前的形容词性物主代词her 可知，空处要填名词；ill为形容词，其名词形式为illness＂疾病＂。故填 illness。
