Step One Greetings and Lead-in
1. Greet the whole class as usual
2. Review the main structure in last period. A: How do you learn English?

3. Tell students what learning challenges that I met when I was young.
And don’t be afraid of difficulties.
Step Two 1a, 1b
1. Read the statements in 1a, and encourage students to tell us what things are true for themselves.
2. Get some students to tell us their problems in class.
3. Encourage students to discuss what other things are difficult when learning English.
Step Three 1c 1d
1. Read the instruction to students to make them understand what they need to do.
2. Have students look through the sentences before listening.
3. Play the recorder and ask them to fill in the blanks while listening.
4. Play it again, get students to check their answers.
5. Do activity 1d in the same way.
6. Get some students to read their answers in class.
