Step1 Greeting
Step2 Presentation
1. Show the pictures of some balls on the screen. Ask questions like this: T:What’s this Ss: It’s a basketball.(Help the students to answer)T: Basketball. Read after me. Ss: Basketball. Use the same approach to teach and practice the other words.
2. Let students match the words with the things in the picture on Page25,1a.
3. Listen and circle the words they hear, complete the exercise on Page25,1b. (Answers: 2. a 3.e 4. f 5. d 6. b )
4. Get the students listen to the conversations again and repeat after the tape. Then work in groups, practice the conversations with the partners. Play a game. Divide the students into eight groups, practice the conversations one by one. The winner can get two stars. Finish 1c.
Step3.Practice
1. Listen to the conversation of 2a and number the pictures.
1) Teacher plays the tape recorder.
Check answers. (Answers: 3, 1, 4, 2 )
2. Listen to the listening materials of 2a again and match the pictures in 2a with the balls in 2b.
Step4.Ask and answer
1. Teacher asks Ss to look at the pictures in 2b and ask:
T: What’s this
Ss: It’s a volleyball.

2. Let the students ask and answer each other with the pictures like this:
S1: Do you have a baseball
S2: Yes, I do. / No, I don’t.
T: Does she have a baseball Ss: Yes ,she does. /No, she doesn’t.
….
3. Play the game again using” Does he/she have a….. Yes, he/she does.
No, he/she doesn’t.”
Step 5.Summarize
Let’s summarize what we have learnt in this period and then do some exercises.
