一、教学目标
1. 掌握重点词汇:tidy, but, our, everywhere, always
2. 能正确地描述物品所处的位置。
3. 能阅读有关描述物品位置的小短文,并能获得相关信息。
4. 进一步培养学生整齐地摆放自己物品的生活习惯。在描述物品的位置的学习中获得英语学习的乐趣,逐步培养学生们对英语学习的兴趣。
二、教学重难点
重点:
1. 掌握重点词汇:tidy, but, our, everywhere, always
2. 能正确地描述物品所处的位置。
难点:
能阅读有关描述物品位置的小短文,并能获得相关信息。
三、教学过程
Step 1 Lead-in
Enjoy a video, and after watching the Ss should answer the question: Where’s the ring
Step 2 Pre-reading
Work on 2a
1. Look at the pictures ask the Ss “What can you see ”
2. Work on 2a. Write the words you know for the things in the picture.
3. Ss answer the following questions in group. And let’s see which group is the fattest one.
Where is the clock
Where are the books
Where is the tape
Where is the key
Where is the notebook
Is the pen on the bed
Is the hat under the sofa
Is the quilt blue
Is the CD in the bookcase
Then enjoy two pictures of two rooms, one is tidy, and the other one is untidy. And teach the new word “tidy”.
Step 3 While-reading
Fast reading
Ss read the passage and find the answers to the questions.
Is Kate tidy
Is Gina tidy
Careful reading
1. Read the part about Kate and finish the chart about Kate. Then have Ss retell this part according to the chart and some sentence patterns.
2. Read the part about Gina and finish the chart about Gina. Then have Ss retell this part according to the chart and some sentence patterns.
Step 4 Post-reading
1. Retell the passage according to the information.
2. Read and try to guess the meaning of some key words. (tidy, but, everywhere, always)
3. Read after the tape.
4. After reading, you must know a lot about Kate and Gina. Who do you want to be Please do a report.
Step 5 Discussion
Show the following picture and ask Ss to discuss the room and put the things in the picture in the right places and fill in the chart.
Step 5 Summary
1. Key words: tidy, but, everywhere, always
2. Key structures:
I’m tidy, but Gina is not.
In our room, my books and tapes are in the bookcase.
Step 6 Homework
Writing: describe your own room in English at least six sentences.
