Step1.Check the words and phrases

Step2.Lead in
show some pictures about Chinese traditional art and lead in.
Step3. Listening and reading
Ask students to close their books and listen the passage,then get the main idea.Then ask them whether they have got the main idea or not.If someone says no,I will ask students to read the passage together then answer these two questions:
1.How many special forms of traditional art are mentioned in this article
2.What are they
Check the answers together.
Step4.Fast reading
Ask students to read the passage as fast as they can and find the main sentence of each paragraph, then finish the chart of 2b.

Step5.Careful reading
Ask students to work in group(four students a group),read the passage carefully and find the answers of these questions:

3. What kinds of pictures are usually found on paper cuttings
4. How do people use paper cuttings during the Spring Festival
Answers:
1.These usually try to show the things that are important in life, such as love, beauty and family.
2.They were used for asking for help when in trouble.
Now they are seen as bright symbols of happiness and good wishes.
3.Flowers, animals, and things about Chinese history.
4.They are put on windows, doors and walls as symbols of wishes for good luck and a happy new year.
Ask some students check the answers,and let students say out where they can find the answers.
Step6.Discussion
Ask students to discuss these two questions with their partners.(two students a group)
1.What are the steps for making clay art piece
2.Which art form do you think is the most interesting why
Ask some students share their ideas.
Step7.Exercise
Ask students work in small groups and find the answers of these sentences:
