While you want to live in reality (现实), don't forget that you have the power to bring positive thinking to your world. If you don't, your relationships will suffer. Other people will be afraid to have you around.
Most people have gone through a negative event or suffered a downfall, but it's important to think good thoughts on purpose to lessen the effects from bad experiences.
Scientists say our bodies produce a chemical reaction (反应) to every single thought we have, and many believe that negative (负面的) thinking can cause physical illness, even cancer.
For our emotional (情绪的) health and relationships, let's assume (假设) our thoughts do have this kind of power.
Imagine mental health is a magnet (磁铁). A healthy person will attract a date, social experiences and friends who enjoy the “atmosphere” this person creates. While someone with a bad attitude will repel (排斥) relationships and experiences that could be helpful.
These tips can help you review your emotional power over others:
1. Let your good thoughts outweigh (比……重要) your bad ones. Check out what's taking place inside your own head each day.
2. Practise lifting up other people. See how other people respond (回应) to your words. Don't forget to talk positively to yourself on purpose as well.
3. Give time to practise encouragement on purpose. Call or text one or two people every day just to say “I'm thinking of you. I miss you.”
( )1. If we don't have positive thinking, what may happen
A. Physical illness. B. We may often feel unhappy.
C. Others may be afraid of seeing you around. D. All of the above.
( )2. What does the underlined word “downfall” mean
A. The loss of a person's money or position. B. A sudden decline in number.
C. The falling to earth of any form of water. D. Bad thoughts.
( )3. If mental health is a magnet, what may happen to someone with a bad attitude
A. He is easy to get angry.
B. He always thinks others don't help him.
C. Others are afraid of being close to him.
D. Others try to make him happy.
( )4. What can we do to improve our emotional power
A. Considering good thoughts is more important.
B. Try to talk positively to yourself.
C. Encourage someone and see his response.
D. All of the above.
( )5. What is the title of the passage
A. The micro CT B. Positive power C. Mummies D. Mutual support
