Step 2 Lead in T: Look, what’s this (出示长城的图片) S1: It’s the Great Wall. T:Yes , it’s the Great Wall . Let’s listen and say a chant about the Great Wall. This is the Great Wall. It’s very beautiful. It’s long and old. And we love it all. Step 3 Presentation 1.T: Look , Daming is in the US with his cousin Simon . They are talking about the Great Wall . Let’s listen to the tape and try to answer these two questions : (1)How long is the Great Wall (2)How old is the Great Wall 2.Watchthe video about the dialogue . Ask the students to answer the questions . 3.T: How long is the Great Wall S: It’s more than forty thousand li long. T: Li means 500 metres . One kilometre is twoli . That is one thousand metres . T: How old is the Great Wall S: It’s more than two thousand years old . T: Yes , very good . Now ask and answer questions in pairs . Now , this time we’ll listen again and try to answer these questions. Where is Daming now Where does Simon want to go Can they walk along all of the Great wall Why Answer the questions. Daming is in the US. Simon wants to go to the Great Wall. No, they can’t walk along all of it. It’s too long. Yes , very good . Now let’s read the dialogue after the tape. Step 4 Practice.
